Perfect hunting gloves

Wells Lamont made a mechanix style work glove back in the day. I would buy a size smaller and soak them in water with my hands in them so they would shrink and fit me better. Unfortunately they quit making those too.

My hands get cold very easily and I usually go the route of the traverse while getting to and from the tree and usually keep one on my left hand through the hunt. I cant stand to have anything on my shooting hand either whether I am using compound or traditional. Normally just throw a hand warmer in my right pocket for that hand. When it gets cold, I will take a muff with a hand warmer. This year though I am going most likely be boating more than normal. I have 3-4 different pairs of heavy gloves but none that I am all that happy with.
I have a pair of the US military Extreme cold arctic mittens I use for running my outboard when I’m duck hunting. That’s all they get used for.

I do that with Wells Lamont ropers. Once they're dried out treat them with beeswax or mink oil or some other boot dressing. I love those roper gloves.

Ragg wool. A lighter pair wither rubber dot grips is best all around. A heavier glomit is nice for colder days.

Only downside, certainly not the best in the rain. I haven't really found a single pair of gloves I like in the rain. In rain I carry a couple sacrificial pairs for traveling and religiously keep my on-stand pair dry.

I also use a muff, really allows you to wear much lighter or no gloves.

Just for protection, not staying warm mechanix makes some really nice light pairs but I only get about 6 months out of a pair before I wear the pinchers out.

Sure. Most of them suck too. Why does no one make a short brimmed boonie anymore? Most of the boonies now look more like a freakin beach umbrella than a hat. I did get one of these last year for Christmas... https://www.kuiu.com/products/kenai-beanie-ash?variant=40536031232158
and it will keep your head toasty if you are folically impaired like I am.
Another boonie afficianado. I’m constantly searching for the perfect short brimmed one. I found this one for cooler weather. It’s not bad. I also have one from Nomad for hotter weather IMG_0257.jpeg

Seems like everyone's selling fashionable swag, like trucker hats and T-shirts with American flags on the sleeves. When they could be selling functional hunting apparel like bucket hats or cold-weather gear like jeep caps and trappers and Story Kromers and whatnot.

And they have extree large. Thats the other problem I have ran into is when I have found a short brimmed version they either only went to large or were one size fits most.

Marketing to the freakin instaflatbillers

Stetson wool crusher for ducks, any kind of ball cap I can get for free, and a Duluth Trading goose down Mad Bomber for when it’s so cold I’ve got no business being out. I have a few wool beanies that make my head itch so I’ve decided they should be replaced by a stormy kromer.

These Under Armour Liner Gloves are great. I had the predecessor pair and wore them out over several years of hard use. Just picked this pair up at Bass Pro today, and I noticed they have a little strap to hold the index finger foldaway portion back out of the way, which is a great little feature.
I also really like the Talus Fingerless Merino Gloves from First Lite.
For late season (bear in mind, I'm in TN, not WI or MN), I wear those and put an electric hand warmer in each coat pocket, and that does the trick.

@Andrew920 sent my wife the link for that boonie and said get the XL. Her reply was it will prolly still be too small. Got me feeling like Rodney Dangerfield up in here.
They fit big. I had to send a large back for a medium. So, I’m thinking the XL should work even on a big melon.
