Team 8

Normal opening day spot I like to hunt in the woods. Lots of cover. Saw a doe about 100 yards off looking around concerned. Then little after 8 I see another doe moving thru. Then i see him behind her. He comes in towards me. Doesn't stop much to let me line up a good shot. The doe came right under my tree about, and he was 25 or so back. She looks up and sees me, then runs back some the way she came. He is standing there watching her and looks about ready to go back the other way. He had a few small branches in front, but I was shooting my 450 bushmaster. At 25 yards if I hit something it wasn't gonna deflect much. So I let him have it. I wasn't counting points, just saw a good size deer with big thick antlers. Broke both his front legs and and he plowed 30-40 yards and stopped. The doe was good size to. But she was to far off to get a shot.
Saw another nice 8 and two other smaller ones shortly after. If that 8 came closer I would have had a hard time not pulling the trigger on him.
Fun morning hunting! First kill my 450. Spent all that time and money getting a 100-150 yard gun set up, and kill him in bow range..
 
Heavy Frost this morning going into work. Looks like it would have been a great morning in the woods. Everyone else getting the temp drop coming?

Temps dropping for me I’m in massachusetts. 50 and rain over night temps are almost to 40 now got in this tree around noon and it’s dropped all of 5 degrees since I’ve been here
 
Saw 3 does right after I got to the fourwheeler tonight. Made it 20 feet up the trail and they were on the run coming from the tree I just left so there’s an addition f-you point on my hunting season. Sorry fella looks like I’m dead weight here this year

Do you have some more season left? Don't feel like you gotta get it done from the saddle for this silly contest. If you got a better way get it done if you want some meat.

I have plenty season left!! I hunt from a tree for most of gun season too. Bow ends here the Saturday after thanksgiving followed by 2 miserable weeks of shotgun and 3 fun weeks of muzzleloader
 
So I think our big boy got shot by the other private land guys I’m not 100%sure but he hasn’t been back since as far as I know. there is still a 8 point hanging around so I think I’ll try to get after him
 
Thank you!! First saddle deer!!!!! I’ve hit one out of it that I never found unfortunately! He went a long way surprisingly probably about 130 yards in a straight line but he Deffinately didn’t run straight to get there! As soon as I found that arrow my nerves were calm lol he’s my first archery deer as well! I will never forget a second of it I cooled my nerves planned ahead slowed down and it all worked out!!! I will never forget the sight of his hair pinching when the arrow tucked away
