I think they’re mostly nocturnal now til gun season ends. Way too many people in the woods right now. I waiting til December to go out again.

Agree. That was my gut instinct. But had to say I tried one morning down there over break. I usually see a few small ones roaming around. But even they are hiding well I guess ATM.
 
@MattMan81 @Andrew920 you guys are from Michigan right? I know you guys basically hold the record out there for gun hunters but I don’t think mass is far behind you in terms of hunters per square foot! Haha

Michigan yes. I think @Andrew920 is on the west side? I'm southern Central kinda.
I didn't known we were the leaders. They keep saying fewer hunters every year.

Yep. I’m near Lansing (southern central Michigan). I don’t hunt with firearms. It’s insane where I’m at. I run a deer cull for my work so I kill around 50 deer myself with a suppressed 308 between January and February. The insanity and deer cull have taken all the fun out of firearms for me. I’m bow only for the challenge and fun.

I live next to a proving grounds. I have seen them making the rounds a few times.

We don’t use a spotlight. Night vision and thermal imaging. Shooter sits in the backseat of a truck, drops the window and smokes the deer. The first 2 weeks we do it we average 15-20 a night. Sounds fun, but it’s a lot of work dragging that many deer.
 
Sad day. Buck my brother and I were hoping would live through the shotgun season allegedly has been shot. No photo proof yet but word of mouth travels fast in small towns haha had a few nice encounters with him really hope it’s not true but we don’t share deer tales with locals but the deer was described pretty well and well sadly

oh I know. We had a buck back there in the swamp that we had history with to no end and last year he fell at 9.5yr old and long story short it was a bad situation. My brother hit him hard in the shoulder with a slug and we lost blood. We backed out and began grid searching the next morning. The neighbor found and claimed the buck as his own even though he was chewed up by yotes. So we’ve had quite the influx of bucks this year looking to claim that swamp
 
Man am I struggling with motivation. Went out this morning and saw nothing on a property that always has deer. I need to get one more doe for my freezer before season end. I got a little cocky and gave the deer I’ve gotten to family and friends.

I’ve been out twice since gun season began. One more time this Saturday then it’s back to the stick and string. Haven’t seen a deer in a while almost forget what they look like!!!! All my cans have been dead too. Next week though they should start coming around little by little week of Christmas is usually really good with the muzzle loader if you wanna hike back country where they all get pushed to
 
I was gonna give it a go Sunday. Get back in the woods and see if I can catch something. You guys aren't giving me much hope. I haven't seen much around the house either. But I will still give it the old college try.
 
Gonna do a quick hang tomorrow with the bow where I shot my buck this year. Deer have been moving through there again but out of courtesy I’d rather not hunt it with a gun. It’s legal distance from all the houses but just don’t want to tick anyone off seeing as one of the houses is like just just legal lol

Ran into a half rack tonight that had gotten his rear end whooped! Apparently a second rut kicked off at some point I’m assuming it’s winding down now but after I decided not to take the shot I walked up towards him until he ran off. Looked off into the jack pine and there was a bruiser bounding off! Decided with only 45 minutes left I’d leave him until tomorrow
