Why don't yall 2TC?

Practiced in the dark and rain tonight up and down at about 10-12’ in my backyard. This works, man. Everybody has a way up the tree but I’m glad I finally learned this as a self-rescue technique coming down.

I will say, I am reminded of my criticism trying 2TC for the first time: it’s a lot of moves for little gain. That said, I’m finding it increasingly easier and more stable, and definitely safer slack than one sticking. But I’m going to have to goof around with hitch and tether placement to find more optimal moves.

Another soul converted to the way

This is the way. Very few will 2TC with ease there is a suck factor for a few climbs and then it starts to click

I was packing up some gear I haven't been using...

Have any of you tried a climbing sling as a foot loop? I've got a 12mm wide and a 19mm wide one. Comfortable? Probably not. Do I mind? Nope. Curious if anyone has tried it though

You could even prusik it directly to the tether and it be a metalless foot loop. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Good idea. Post pictures.

Everyone is doing sumthin' a little different.

For me, I usually have my carabiner right around the bottom of my chest bone (that takes care of my bridge length). Then my tether length is adjusted out to as high as I can reach COMFORTABLY.
The farther out I make my moves the longer it takes me to advance.
Sure, I might get a little more distance per move if I stretch things out but it takes longer and there is a compromise...

That sounds promising

you had the good idea on just prusik the sling!

Initially 2 things. This might need a castration band or something near the prusik to keep its form, not sure yet. Second, I use spaghetti for my tethers and I'm going to need to get bigger rope out but I do have caynon Elite and phantom ( I think, 11mm whatever it is) to play with. The 12mm on 6mm rope might hold, barley. Interested to see how the 19mm does on the elite

I do that, but have been attaching directly via Kelmheist. I’m think the webbing lays better than prusik configuration

Using a continuous loop or an eye to eye for the Kelmheist? Picture would be appreciated if you’ve got one.
