Old sewing machine clean up and repair thread

I would take it to someone who knows what they are doing to get it repaired. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    Bought a sewing machine!!

I have a 4432 - get a 110/18 needle for sewing webbing and poly thread 210D/3 (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0899JXYQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5BDNWWDPKRW23DX37W0D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) 4 layers of heavy webbing is about max it will handle on a straight stitch forward only. 3 layers you can do other...

    Safeguard rappelling

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0272/5951/files/Safeguard_Instructions.pdf?v=1607703133 Read the safety instructions for yourself. I've been rock climbing for years. NOBODY puts an auto-block (prusik or otherwise) below the device. Why would you risk breaking your device doing the very...

    Safeguard rappelling

According to Madrock you should never put a auto-block below the rig as you have as the stress has caused them to break in testing. it should go above. personally, these things are rated for 4000lbs so I don't use one.

    And sew it begins.

Correct. A cupped saddle will form to your bottom a lot nicer than oval top and bottom. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    And sew it begins.

Here is the pattern from the DIY Kestral Clone thread. Zoom in on my photo and you'll see how you put the two pieces together. When you sew the curved sides together it takes on a nice saddle shape. This is done by laying the curved edges together and sewing along it. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL...

    And sew it begins.

When attaching the two pieces together you connect them on the curved side, not the flat side like you have it. When sewing the two curved sides together it will come out as a cup and will not lay flat. I will send a pic in a bit Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    And sew it begins.

You should see the curved sides together so it takes the shape of your backside - not the straight edges. Otherwise you would just cut out an oval. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    Double-foot reinforced SRT aider

Here are some pics. The one my dad is using the feet are not as close together. Both of them prefer that, so I will incorporate that moving forward. Short bridge is essential. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    Double-foot reinforced SRT aider

Your feet go against the tree - one on each side for stability and pushing back. I'll post pics later today. When we get to hunting height it's easy to slip your feet out for standing on your platform. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    Double-foot reinforced SRT aider

I made it. I have a heavy duty sewing machine. The plan is to have them for sale on saddlehuntgear.ca (a store I am in the process of setting up) in the new year. Want one? I will custom make it to the length you want it. Usually they are between 53" and 65" - my son is 5'7" and his is 53"...

    Double-foot reinforced SRT aider

Yes we use an ascender with a carabiner to clip in this and carabiner on the top - which we feed the GriGri slack line through for a two hand pull up. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    Double-foot reinforced SRT aider

The problem I find with SRT is my one foot kicks out. This solves that problem. I also prefer 1.5" webbing on the foot loops so that it doesn't cut into your feet as much. Gives a more stable feeling. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
