    For webbing I use Strapworks or Sailrite. Rockywoods has a good selection of fabrics and Mil-spec Monkey has lots of hardware.

    I've used Gutermann tera 40 tex 75 for several saddles over the last few years and have had no issues.

    I have a Domestic rotary 153 which is the same machine with a different badge. Bobbins are readily available. Kenmore also made a similar rotary that uses the same accessories. Its a very strong machine from the late 40's - early 50's. it is a straight stich with reverse. I love mine.

    Well...the prototype is finished! Needs a little refinement, but turned out good. I have enough wool to make 2 more. One will be in the brown and the other will be in gray. The pocket liners are fleece with hand warmer pouches on the inside.

    I've been back to work, so progress have been a little slow. I was able to get the sleeve zippers in and a hat put together from the left over wool. also made the pocket liners (fleece) with a small pocket inside of that to put a hand warmer. The 8" zippers for the chest pockets should be in...

    I use a flat felled seam with a double stitch, so on the inside it lays over to one side and is attached with the 2 top stitches.

    LOL! If you have a tread injector it wouldn't be hard to sew in side seams. It would be like a pull over vest. it would probably save you from being hassled by local law enforcement. LOL!
