2024 Sheds and Deads

My advice for anybody new or strugglin.

Go in the rain or right after a rain when everything is still wet. The leaves and grass will be much darker and it makes the white...ish antlers pop out. I can always find sheds from much farther away when its wet out. Also, bring an antler with you, turn your head away, and throw it over and over again. it will train your eyes to find them. Look for little tiny points or bases sticking out of leaves or grass instead of whole fresh booner antlers sitting on top like the youtuber dudes always find. You're never gonna miss that one if you end up near it but the mostly buried 4pt from last year is easy to miss.

I've never put together the wet portion but definitely easier to finds sheds on overcast days when there aren't shadows everywhere.

Yup same idea. Not as much sun reflecting off the leaves on overcast days. the leaves or grass that are light brown in color can be very close to a fresh antler especially on a sunny day, but theyll turn very dark when they get wet and no sun shooting back at you. Always surprised how far away you can spot that white/brown antler in the right conditions.

1st one of the year for me.
