People say that sticking is less moves but with 2 tc.you dont have to reach down, disconect the stick, reach up reconect the stick ,then set the stick.thats 4 moves inbetween the three moves that are claimed.and still you have to step up 3 times and move your tether.i count 8 moves in what is called one when done 3 times thats 24 movements according to my grade school math

Fact of the matter is any 1 sticker who could get comfortable and efficiant at 2tc.would switch.but any one good at 2tc.hase no use for a stick.and no reason to swich...period.its like comparing apples to turd popsicles...all roads lead to 2tc.1 stickers are multiple stickers that wish they could two tether but couldnt quite ditch the last stick.or they would just carry multiple sticks still.if you cant 2tc correctly im sorry for your exscusses.just carry your crutch and say you need it.thats cool...nothing wrong with it... some people cant hunt without beer

I like both but like my xop platform with a shaffer cam cleat its like one stick climbing. Some trees are better suited for 2t/c my choice I prefer climbing with the platform 2t/c takes me longer to get to hunting hight being 18 to 22 feet. I also feel like 2t/c takes longer for me to get set up.

I’m not an expert on any climbing method that’s why I have multiple. If not going in far I’ll take my summit viper and be comfortable, I one stick most of the time but sometimes I hunt from the ground. To each their own is the way I see it. Being 55 years old I’ll do whatever I feel like and not be influenced by anyone else. Do it your way and I’ll read the terrain and weather conditions and hunt the best way I see it. I’ve also tried t2c but still prefer my one stick or the ground. Hurry up October!!

Why would you disconnect & reconnect a stick unless you hit a limb?

I can srt, 2tc, and 1 stick with my system......each has a time and a place

On paper so can I but I one-sticked every hunt last year.

2 TC is fine I just find one-sticking a little...easier? Idk. I'm not super practiced at 2 TC. Here I thought that was the overhyped one but I gather cbigbear is saying otherwise?

Setting lines in the woods in the dark and brush just doesn't work for me or I would rope climb every hunt. Best way to climb hands down, once you set the lines. That qualifier kills it.

If I’m hunting a spot with sketchy leaning trees, big trees, or limby trees, onestick/ROS with rappel. If i‘m going to skinnier more uniform trees with 1 limb pass or less, 2TC with rappel and platform. If I’m scouting/hunting a new area, or wind is weird, or considering a ground hunt, then 2TC with ROS. Always have some paracord to set an SRT preset….only actual hunted SRT preset spot once last season. If the woods are wet, one stick. Did 5 of 7 hunts last year with 1 stick

The more things that you have in your system the more things that can go wrong.and the more things to distract you from your hunt as you worry about them or the more danger you put yourself in if you dont1000002503.jpg1000002519.jpgit can happen to sticks too.ropes dont just crack like that.

Agreed so why not “mainstream” like one sticking?
You should lead the movement. @always89y , @tailgunner and you could all make some fantastic you tube tutorials and let’s all share it across our social media pages….. I know there are a few videos out there but a lot of manufacturers are gonna push the sale of sticks (or one stick set ups) for the money. We get enough on board, we probably could mainstream it. Personal opinion it’s because of what @BTaylor said… we need some better foot stirrup options for stability. As of now CGM has the best set up I’ve seen

What kind of stability issues are people having? Curious as I'm probably doing a little demo this weekend, I've been perfectly at home since I started trying 2tc( 1-stick as well for that matter)

I should be getting my rigid footloop from Jerry soon and im thinking it will be the sweet spot for me. Not quite as packable but probably a little more convenient to use. I can use the other one just fine but I want to compare and see which I am more comfortable with. Then it will be practice until season…

Some people aren’t comfortable standing with one leg wrapped around the tree, it is why there is a market for double stirrups. And with double stirrups, the draw back has mostly been the legs spreading and straddling the tree. We had some similar complaints in years past with the guys trying out the barren ridge platform.

For me, it's the toe of my boot slipping off to one side or the other. Guessing it prolly depends a lot on what types of tree folks are climbing. Some obviously have better traction than other. Not uncommon around here to need to climb a willow, water or nutall oak and they are all hard tight bark that can be a little slick.
