    Climbing spikes. Good or bad

Read previous post, not same kind of damage, but damage nonetheless. I would argue they do less damage than drilling holes and placing bolts into a tree.

    Climbing spikes. Good or bad

Agreed, the damage by spurs is definitely more than sticks, etc... Just saying that they both do some level of damage.

    Climbing spikes. Good or bad

I use the climbrite aluminum spurs. I love them. I didn't feel that the learning curve was bad. I walked in the woods and climbed 25ft up a tree the first time I put them on. I don't recommend that approach, but just just showing that it isn't hard to do. They do cause some damage to the...

    Dead Down Wind detergent bombs

I always use All Free and Clear on my regular laundry. So it’s scent free to begin with. No worries there.

    Dead Down Wind detergent bombs

Anyone use DDW detergent bombs to wash their Scentlok? From my understanding they don't use any cover scents or any scents whatsoever, just plant enzymes to destroy odors. Says on the website "Laundry Bombs are effective on natural, technical, synthetic or carbon garments to remain undetected...

    Airtight Containers

I went ahead and ordered the 4 pack of these as well. Gonna look and see what kind of rubber weatherstripping or whatever I can put on there just to further make it airtight, not sure I trust that foam 100% to be airtight.

    Baselayers?

OK, so 0-29 degrees you have a base layer below your Merino? I have been looking at the Pnuma Merino base layers. Anyone have experience with these? Lifetime warranty sounds kinda nice. https://www.pnumaoutdoors.com/merino-wool-hunting-base-layer-1-4-zip-pullover#size-chart

    Airtight Containers

That was my concern was the foam gasket, would like to see a rubber one, but I guess a thin bead of RTV or silicome may do the trick.

    Airtight Containers

Anyone find a good deal on airtight containers for storing Scentlok gear? I found this one and it seems to be reasonably priced. About the same size as the one Scentlok sells on their website for about half the price...

    Several Shooter Bucks

Yea good point. I have been hunting different areas, trying to get a bit closer to the bedding areas every time. Finally saw a mature buck, but he was chasing does about 150 yards away. Oh well, hope he survives the gun season!

    Climbing spur question

The spurs I bought have tree gaffs so I just ordered some pole gaffs to try them out. The tree gaffs seemed a bit long, meaning my foot felt too far away from the tree. I think the pole gaffs will be perfect.

    Several Shooter Bucks

No doubt about that. Our gun season opens on the 30th and run for two weeks, then no hunting till after christmas so hoping I can get one in late season.

    Climbing spur question

I don't have any experience with the Klein spurs. I bought a used/modified set of Climb Rite aluminum spurs with the tree gaffs. I really like them. Very easy to use, quiet, and versatile. Now I don't recommend this method, but I had never climbed a tree with spurs before and hiked into a new...

    Several Shooter Bucks

No doubt. I pulled my cameras (public land) last Thursday, still no daytime pictures. Would have figured there would have been at least some daylight if not dusk pictures. NOPE. All in the dead of night still.
