CGM Cobra VS Cruzr XC - Bulky Camo

I switched to the Cobra from the Cruzr XC & I like the Cobra much better. More comfortable, I love the bigger pleat & how it stays together better than the Cruzr since it's made from webbing instead of mesh. The small things are all great on the Cobra. I would say getting it on with bulky...

    Heated base layers?

Another vote for the Pnuma vest. The battery location is kind of in the same area of the waist belt of the saddle, but you can move it above or below the belt when you are tightening it. I haven't found it to be an issue. It works best for me to wear a thin t shirt, then the vest to get the...

    Ideas for a gear hanger?

The Amsteel gear hangers are so much better than any other option out there in my opinion. So much smaller than the HYS strap. And you don't really need any type of clip or camjam to connect it, just run it back through itself & hang your pack on the tag end. Keeps the strap tight that way with...

    New Gear for 2023, Go!

Speaking of scent control, I remember hearing last year about Deception Outdoors coming out with a new spray that had different science behind it. I never have tried it but curious if anyone here has? Supposedly used in the medical field & hunting is a new application...

    School me on doves

Get close to a power line over some fresh cut corn with a dove mojo & you should be in business. Where I live the timing always works out that a couple farmers start shelling corn the last couple days of August/first week of Sept & season starts 9/1. It really helps to concentrate the birds onto...

Latitude Carbon Sticks - Saddle Attachment Method?

Guess I didn't realize the earlier pre orders were at 20% off, I just got my code in a promo email from Latitude about running 20% off for the month of July.

Latitude Carbon Sticks - Saddle Attachment Method?

Pre ordered 4 sticks July 20th, got the shipping notification yesterday 8/21. Tracking shows I should have them 8/23, anxious to get them in hand. I understand many people are upset about the delays but we all knew it was a pre order & it would be some amount of time before we got them. I was...

    Bow cases

I have the SKB hunter series case & I do like it much better than the Plano protector cases. Holds the bow firmer & you don't have to mess with straps. Little more expensive option though. Most of the time I don't even use the case, I have a couple of the Cabelas bow/gun hangers for the back...

    What’s your arrow/broadhead setup ?

Yes I've shot a couple deer with them & both were passthroughs & dead within 50 yards. They were both broadside, double lung shots that didn't hit any bone though so most broadheads would've been fine. One was 32 yards & one was like 25 I think. 2 different bows, one V3 31 & last year the...

    Advice on headlamps

Fenix is the way to go. I use the HM70R, great spot & flood settings as well as a red light. Typically use the red or the dim spot for deer hunting, but the brightness on the turbo setting is awesome for tracking in the dark, or I mainly use that setting for waterfowl hunting. Super bright light...

    New Gear Release 2022!

Researchers coming out with some crazy strong polymers these days. Somewhere on here is an article about MIT engineers creating a plastic that is stronger than steel. Not saying this is the one Cruzr will be using but sure would be cool if the hunting industry could get hands on that stuff.

    New Gear Release 2022!

According to Cruzr's customer support email, their sticks have been delayed into next year. Guess we will have to discuss them in New Gear Release 2023.

Don't think it has been released but I have seen photos & talk of it on social media.

    New Gear Release 2022!

Agreed, Marsupial is hard to beat for bino packs. All of the rest of their gear looks great too, really like the looks of the gun & bow cases.

Anyone else ever stumble across the ridiculous flashlight hobby?

The fenix lights are awesome. I got the hm70r last year & can confirm you won't want to go back to AA or AAA. Not only is it awesome to use a rechargeable one but these batteries last so much longer on a much brighter light than anything I tried before this.

    Gear Strap from the Saddle?

https://doublesteps.com/product/amsteel-daisy-chain-gear-strap/ This is the best way I have found. Hardly takes up any space, the HYS strap is bulky. With a couple S biners & a hero clip for the bow. Can use one of the CamJams or I just put the tag end through the loop that makes it tight to...
