    I use Sig Sauer ZULU 7's 8x42 and I love them, they're really versatile, lightweight and have great focal depth. The lenses are super durable, I have a tendency to beat up my gear and these have held up fine in snow, mud, branches and whatever else. Also have you considered a magnified range...

    For sure-I have been scouring their website. Fortunately I have full machine shop access, and already acquired most of the stock I'll need, unless I mess something up, which is likely :tearsofjoy:. I have been debating trying to make something longer than 20" more like 24" step to step.

    Of course! Fortunately for me, I'm only about 140 lbs and I will definitely be running some stress simulations in CAD and make sure I put them through some abuse as well.
