Rappelling & pack up after hunt time

I use a gri gri which works great for break down of platform and single stick. I use a dump pouch for rap/,tether line. Pouch is always on saddle. I could skip coiling the ropes I could not put platform in pack but I would lose a free hand I should time the process because maybe it just feels...

Rappelling & pack up after hunt time

This is will be my 3rd season one sticking. I use the rappel line as my tether. Love it…except the amount of time it takes to pack up platform, etc., rappel, retrieve the rope and get ready to walk out. Everything goes in my backpack with nothing on the outside to snag brush walking in the...

OnX vs, HuntWise? Hunt stand etc?

Just spent 3 weeks on this app reasearch stuff. Now that on x has 3D maps they win. It comes down to quickly finding public access points for me. And 3D works in the field more often than not. Offline maps are great. I looked at all the major players Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone else mainly just use two sticks??

I have been single sticking for 2 seasons and there are specific trees that would be better with two sticks. What length sticks and what length aider steps work well for you? Your height too? Do you leave second stick below final hunting height or bring it up level? Sent from my iPhone using...

    Your first.

I started hunting late (approaching 50 now), skipped firearms and went to bowhunting after my grandfather passed away and left a Parker compound bow in his basement. I regret never have hunted with him and that became my motivation to start - so my kids would have the opportunity. I got access...

    Hung up rappel line

I have about 30 days of single stick climbing and rappelling experience in tight tree conditions in NH. Also have years of rock climbing and rappelling experience and I cannot believe how hard it can be to retrieve 25’ of rap line at end of hunt. Most recently I clip small biner through bight...

Reflective Tape for marking blood trail / deer location

Can anyone recommend a manufacturer/model/color of reflective survey tape and a source? Looks like there is a lot of crap out there. I just want to rip off a few pieces (not adhesive) so I can retrace a path in the dark with my flashlight. Thanks.
