    With a magnum I would always go premium ammo in any weight or heavy in cheaper stuff. I seen weird stuff happen in my 7mm rem mag and 300 wby when trying going light weight and cheap. But cheap and heavy fare well. (Wby was cheating out on handloads)

    Quartering Wind Direction- How close is too close?

    Both of my bucks I got this year was within 5 to 10 yards of being directly downwind from me. Thick timber on bottom of a drainage ridge. I see very few nice bucks not going nose in the wind. My scent control is washing my clothes in Tide, Irish spring bar soap and whatever shampoo my wife buys me.

    I think something worth mentioning is how high he sets up. That will help from not getting winded when the deer are close depending on thermals.
