Another vote for Marsupial. Enclosed non magnetic. If you want something more streamlined then the RYO is what you'd want to checkout.

    SOLD Tethrd Knushion

SOLD Bought this for the 2021 season and never used it. I haven't had a reason to try it since knee pads are working for me just fine. It's been sitting in my gear bin every since. New and unused, but without packaging or tags. Asking $30 shipped TYD, PayPal preferred, and buyer pays the fees...

tethrd one stick 2.0 vs tree ninja 20 inch carbons?

Over the summer when I wanted to spend a good chunk of money on light sticks to save weight, I did what you're doing. I realized it isn't a total apples to apples comparison between a lot of the sticks because of their varying lengths. What I ended up doing was calculating the weight of the...

Sitka gear.......to buy, or not to buy?

I'm in the fanatic hoody loving camp. In regards to the flip mitts, I fold mine back over themselves so the sleeve isn't too long and there isn't too much excess material. It helps keep the bulk down. I think if you tried to use it unfolded and pushed everything up, then I would agree that...

tethrd one stick 2.0 vs tree ninja 20 inch carbons?

From what others have said what I can personally say is that the C1 sticks are really quiet.

tethrd one stick 2.0 vs tree ninja 20 inch carbons?

I have no experience with the Tethrd options, but I am very happy with my C1 sticks. Not many reviews on here about them but they've met my needs and expectations.

    Timber Ninja C1 mod

Like others I was worried about the standoff until I got mine and started using them. Took me about two climbs to adjust to how I placed my feet on them. I had to turn my feet outward more so instead of using my toes I'm not sort of on the balls of my feet which are now spread apart instead of...

What size and color for the black ovis? (can't load the pictures on my work computer for whatever reason). Would you say fits as a base layer next to skin?

    Early morning setups

GPS app on your phone gets you close, reflective tacks marking the specific tree gets you the rest of the way.

Not who you're quoting, but I think deer are more inclined to hard spook if they see you in the light. Whenever I run into deer in the dark and I see their eyes, I usually back out and go around them. Rarely do the spook hard or blow at me if I do that.

    You wouldn’t think…

I have a pair of those suspenders, maybe I'l give them a try. I too was waiting for the Tethrd ones to come back in stock, but I don't think it will end up working for me with heavy clothes anyway. I will try these. Good idea, I never thought of using them but the hook on them is perfect for...

    Late season hunting help

This. The deer know where people should and should not be. Same goes for hunting suburban deer. People will tell you "the deer by my house are dumb, you could walk right up to them and shoot them in my yard." Well, you try and hunt those same deer hanging from a tree and all of a sudden...

    You wouldn’t think…

Yeah I hang a platform and two sticks off mine while I climb. I don't usually have any issues because the weight is on my LB, but walking in the saddle definitely wants to sag. Looks like your using suspenders from Sitka?

    Early morning setups

You say you lost your GPS but what about an app on your phone? Works even without cell service, and the free version of Gaia should be more than enough to navigate to waypoints in the dark.

    You wouldn’t think…

I really like the idea of suspenders for walking in wearing your saddle. But then do you take them off once you start your climb? Seems like a non issue early in the season when its warm, but your saddle is obviously your outer most layer, so you would need to wear your suspenders over all of...

    Favorite tree to climb

Ash trees are great, minus the fact that we've been slammed with an invasive beetle that is killing them so I don't touch them now. Least favorite would be shagbark hickory.
