    Does Anybody Hot Tent?

Thanks for the insight and I definitely follow your same logic on the 140 vs Skyliner. Man this site is terrible for my bank account!

    Does Anybody Hot Tent?

I’ve been using a poor man’s setup for the past 4 years….preself tipi 4 man and guide gear stove. While great for 1-2 people, I am seriously considering the CJ 140 + nomad for year round use with the family. Are you happy with the 140 or do you now want the Skyliner? Why nomad over woodlander?

    Waldrop Pac Seat- Which one?

I might be the odd one here, but I removed the shoulder straps and waist band since they are low quality and seem like design afterthoughts. Instead I strap the seat to the outside of my Exo k3 and it works great. Less pac, more seat but it’s a great high end lawn chair for the woods.

    Best pack for saddle hunting

Another vote for the Exo K3. The 1800 works great as a day pack and you can add the lid if you need. I’ll swap to the 4800 if I’m spike camping. Love the versatility and resale value.

    Repurpose helium steps?

They will kick out if your don’t lock them down properly. Being that Hawks are usually bought as a first set of sticks, I could imagine a higher than average % of user error. That said, I’ve put 3 seasons on mine with zero issues. Even put an angled OOAL scout platform on one and no kickout...

    Water bottle

I’ve tried them all and even mix my own sports drinks. That said, I prefer Nuun

    Sleeping Bags

I have the same bag, can’t beat the value. Paired with a light BA synthetic overbag you can get down in the teens comfortably.

    Perfect hunting gloves

I have an old pair of Sitka ESW gloves that have half fingers only on the thumb and index. Great for early season or late plus a muff. For late season the Cabelas goretex glomitts are hard to beat.
