    Venison shank

Ya'll inspire me to eat them shanks this year and possibly take the shanks from everyone who don't want them and serve them up to all. Ya'll prefer sawing them off and keeping bone in or just debone?

    Staying home to hunt

I hunt 2 hours from home, but am about to move 2 hours and hunt out the front door Currently i fish 190 days a year and the Mississippi/StCroix is 200 yds from my house. Instead of commuting to hunt i'll be commuting to fish. Looking forward to the move and 2021 deer season! :)

Have you had a fall climbing?

Buddy of mine is still recovering from a broken strap on a hang on two years ago. Broken hip. Most the recovery for him now is 'getting back on the horse' though he's probably only 75% of what he once was physically.

    Primers

Sign up for Ammoseek.com When they're available at any online retailer you'll get an email with a quick link to the retailer. It is how i buy most my reloading components. I did a search on ammoseek right now, and there are ZERO available at this moment. Things like primers can go within...

    Truck Camper Help

The buddy heater has an o2 sensor that will shut the burner off long before you have a CO problem. A sunflower heater can kill you before it shuts off. Somehow i survived a night with both a buddy heater and a sunflower running. Around 1am the buddy heater shut off and wouldn't start again...

    Your first.

My first ever whitetail: In truck with Dad. He spots a deer in the corn stalks from the road. We park. Crawl through the ditch to get close. Crawl into the corn stalks to within 90 Yds. I put the bead from my 870 Wingmaster on her neck and pull the trigger. Immediately a deer gets up and i am...

    Hunting apps

I use huntstand. I didn't need it much for deer hunting, but bought it for land ownership names when looking for prairie dog hunting land. After i bought it, i use it more for deer hunting, morel hunting, etc. Works and price isn't too bad. I do hunt a lot of land with a lot of different...

    Ticks, Ticks Ticks….they are everywhere.

Was sitting at my reloading bench a week ago loading up some 308 when it felt like my nuts were being attacked. Almost felt like i dropped the cherry from my cig down my pants (No i wasn't smoking at the reloading bench LOL). Scratched, didn't go away...Went in for further inspection and all be...

Compounds vs Crossbows in a saddle

My first year with a crossbow i spent a lot of time just holding it in a shooting position to develop the muscle memory to get used to the oddball weighting. In the living room holding dead center on a target at 5 yrds is good practice, well, better than none at all that is for sure. I have a...

    Reloading

Using a powder burn rate list, look at the powders you do have data for, then find which one is closest to the burn rate of the powder you want to use. Start on the small end and work your way up.

How far would you realy shoot?

I shoot 398 fps (Ravin R10). I shot a buck at 70 yds in 2019. Extremely foggy day, very relaxed animal. Deer dead within 60 yards, but arrow didn't hit where it was supposed to due to deer moving during flight. Thanksgiving this year i shot at a doe at 60 yds. She ducked right under that arrow...
