    Platform Painting Really Necessary?

hunting a lot of public land, sometimes close to the people trails, I camo'ed up my stuff to make sure other people didn't see it right away. The deer dont much care, but I don't want the occasional runner/hiker to spot my all grey sticks on the tree off in an oak flat 30 yards off the trail...

Hawk helium platform squeaks and creaks

I guess there is a possibility it could be something else....im running amsteel daisy chain for straps. Only seems to do it on the top platform though......its mostly when I put any kind of side pressure on it. Thanks everyone

Hawk helium platform squeaks and creaks

This is my 1st full year of saddle hunting, I, I did 1 or 2 sits last year. When I was looking for a platform, the predator was back ordered so I didn't get it last year. I went with the hawk helium platform on top of my helium sticks. It was a good deal at the time and it got me up in the tree...

    Painted my Hawk Helium Steps

Seems like it works. As long as you are comfortable on it, that's all that matters. I really like the mesh laundry bag way of doing camo on rifles, but I really hated it for the steps. I think the smaller profile of the steps didnt lend itself to the larger macro patterns you get when doing...

    Painted my Hawk Helium Steps

2021 will be my first year saddle hunting, I figure I have about 9 months to get ready, so I started by painting my new Helium steps and HSP platform. Tried covering with a mesh laundry bag, but I hated it, so I did the sponge method instead. Pictures below, also a link to a video I did on it.

So, do you bremel lock the amsteel ends for loops?

Hawk Helium sticks and HSP platform value leader.

I just got my platform, painted it, and I have to say, with the plastic bushing on the platform mounted on the stick, just with the pins its a solid fitment. I will still probably switch out the pins for bolts, because I have 4 sticks and one will be a dedicated "top stick" until I get...

    HuntStand vx OnX

I used basemap this year. I switched over from OnX and really liked it. Both seemed to work well, but basemap has more layers. I really enjoyed having the USGS topo maps as an option for a layer. I would have to give the "huntwind" part of basemap about 3 starts out of 5. It works okay for...

    Rappelling kit

Rope.com sells all sort of climbing rope by the foot. you can get into 45 feet of good rope for about 80 bucks, and a madrock safeguard for under 100 also.

Hawk Helium sticks and HSP platform value leader.

This is exactly what I want to try eventually. right now I am going to stick with running 3 sticks and the platform, and see how I feel. Once I get comfortable, this setup looks ideal, because I usually have to hike a mile plus into public land to get to some spots.

Hawk Helium sticks and HSP platform value leader.

This is my exact setup. 2021 will be my first season saddle hunting, and what you laid out is exactly what I will be trying for my first year. platform should be here today, I'm interested to see how sturdy the attachment is to the top of the sticks. I assume you could swap out the pins for...

    Glider Dynamic rope

has anyone tried this rope for one-sticking/rapelling with a madrock safeguard? Looks like quality rope, but I am not a climber, so I'm not sure if this is a safe bet or not. This next season will be my first using a saddle, and while I'm going to start with 3 sticks, linemans belt and tree...

    Bowmar nose button

I tied on a bit of D-loop material with what I call a millers knot. moved it to where I thought a nose button should be, and served it it just enough to hold it. I am replacing my strings in February, I will either have one installed if the shop has them or install them myself after the...

Who Did Not Snort the Fairy Dust? And Why?

I did a very non-scientific test, and the zingers were WAY louder than the feathers I shoot from my whisker biscut. it also moved them back to the nock about 1/16 to 1/8" every shot. love the idea of the zingers, will try them again when I install a new drop away rest.

    Hello From CT

I bought the Phantom, and I have some Hawk Sticks. Im thinking about doing 2 or 3 sticks with a aider, or doing a 1-stick mod. I have all the components I need to do either, it really about what I end up feeling the most safe with. once it arrives I plan on just spending a day or two getting...

Who Did Not Snort the Fairy Dust? And Why?

i think you're on the money. I left out a lot in an effort to not type out a novel. I moved the rest quite a bit. I dont think my friend really shot the bow more than after getting set up at the shop. Then I added a D-loop. Then I tweaked the peep. Then I got better at shooting in...

Who Did Not Snort the Fairy Dust? And Why?

Ill try to be concise with my "Fairy Dust" journey. Bought a new to me Matthews Switchback this year from a friend, got a good deal, 300 for bow, arrows, case, release etc. Arrows were 400 spine, 100 grains up front. Shot fast, shot okay. Throw a broadhead on there, arrow wanders off...
