    Buckingham Tree Spurs

I emailed fwc before I bought mine last year. They have no problem with the use of spurs for climbing on WMA's. Just no screw ins or driving spikes. They did say that damaging trees was not allowed, so I think it would depend on the officer as to that.

If your allowed to use spurs, they are great. Some states don't allow them on public lands.

    Climbing rope for tree access

I'm only using the rope for coming down. I was thinking it would be nice to have a dedicated bag that I could just feed the rope out of as I rappelled down. Its thick in most spots I hunt, so just throwing it over my shoulder would be a huge pita. They have smaller bags like this, I just...

    Climbing rope for tree access

So my package came from treestuff Friday, and I've been playing with the petzl pirana decender. I forgot how much fun rappelling was. My question is, how are you carrying your rope in with you? I don't normally carry a backpack for early season, so stuffing it in a bag would be a last resort...

    Climbing rope for tree access

Are the pre made eyes in the rope easier to deal with when retrieving the rope?

    Dynamic line instead of static?

Re: I've been thinking of doing this ever since I switched to climbing with spurs. Drop a spur and I'm stuck! Plus, its faster coming down at night. Let me know what you end up with. I have not repelled since I was in the Marines, and all we did then was wrap the biner a few times and zip...

Are we going to kick one off this year? Didn't get a chance to add any points last year due to my shoulder injury, but hopefully this year will be better.

returning to bow hunting after shoulder surgery?

Well had the surgery last Monday. All seems to be going well. Wasn't as damaged as the doctor though. Just had to go in and remove some bone fragments in the rotator and reattach the bicep back into the shoulder. Now time will tell as to when I can start shooting again.

returning to bow hunting after shoulder surgery?

Thanks guys. At 34 this is my first major injury and first surgery. Got me a little edgy. I hate relying on someone else to fix me up.

returning to bow hunting after shoulder surgery?

I'm staying positive and hope to be back to 100% by October opener. I've put off the surgery as long as I could, but the doctors say I'm out of options.

returning to bow hunting after shoulder surgery?

Well, due to a work injury, the doc says I need to have my bicep reattached to my shoulder as well as some work on my rotator cuff. Anyone have this kind of surgery unable to return to bow hunting?

    Buckingham Tree Spurs

That's on my to do list and I will try putting my pants on the outside of my boots, although, they are neoprene so I don't know if they are actually making any noise. I think its where the spur slides into the leather padding causing the noise, or the strap that goes around your heal. Its one...

    Buckingham Tree Spurs

Few things that I have changed with my setup in the last couple weeks. First, I have found no need for knee pads, the super pads on the spurs are large enough to protect you from the tree. Second, I have decided leaving the spurs on is the best option and ditched the ring of steps. The spurs...
