    Kestrel Mod Question

Has anybody swapped out the heavy/ noisy leg buckles on the Kestrel? I don't like them and don't mind stepping into the saddle. Any ideas on a replacement?

    Knee Pad Suggestions

On that note, would a platform be the way to go? they look quite slick in G2's videos on YouTube. I would go with DIY ring of steps made out of plate 6061 aluminum or just spend the money on the platform setup. I am looking for comfort and least amount of movement to adjust for a shot.

    Knee Pad Suggestions

I am definitely the type of person that likes to do it right from the beginning. I learned from years of buying cheap tools, lol. You end up spending more in the long run it seems like! Thanks G2

    Knee Pad Suggestions

Is grip on the tree a factor? Do some guys wear the pads under their hunting pants for added noise reduction or grip to a slippery bark (American Beech or Red Maple)? Without having done this before, I would assume a hard plastic Knee cover would be slippery on the tree. Thoughts?

Hi, I'm new. Anyone using the ASAT 3D suit

I like to put my money into good base layers(merino wool) and layering. I have a few of those LL Bean pack away coats (super light weight and warm) that i keep in my bag as well. As far as your outer layer, I wouldn't get too caught up on the fancy pricey camos. Its more of a game of...

Thanks man! I really like your setup on the Sit Drag in your "Complete Walkthrough" video. I was looking in to some condor mini dump pouches for my lanyard and tether for the Kestrel. Is there anything you like or don't like about your dump pouches? Or any suggestions you may have about them?

    Virginia Public Land Shed's

Wow! really nice set! Were they close to food? or more of a bedding location? He may not be far from there! Thats exciting

    Thoughts?

I noticed in your pictures there are mostly Chestnut Oak leaves on the ground there. Does that location have patches of White oak and/ or Red Oak? or is this a mixture of tree species all over? I have found on large tracts that finding little pockets of White Oak can be a gem early season if...

New to Saddle Hunting from NY

Thanks Redsquirrel, I went with a fixed 28" bridge (1/4" Amsteel) for now after playing with it for a while. I was getting some hip squeeze with shorter lengths at first, then i realized I was wearing the saddle up a bit high. I re-positioned the saddle lower on my butt and it seemed to take...
