    Which Pack?

2nd on the Pathfinder. Picked it up this season and it has quickly become my favorite pack. Can deploy it to haul layers and gear to the stand, and then collapse it down so it's not as bulky up in the tree. Early season it was great for not having something on my back that was trapping heat...

I’m in need of some advice with my WE steps

I have the same issues with mine right now, waiting for a response from WE. (emailed them on the 4th). The day I got them I put them on a few trees and re-adjusted them every half hour or so for a few hours to "pre-stretch" the ropes. After the stretching, whenever I cam them over, they feel...

List of what I need as a new Saddle Hunter?

Could you elaborate on this? I currently use the HSS rope as a lineman's belt and also as a tether (both with ropeman 1's) and they work fine for regular stand hunting, was planning on using them when I get a saddle.

Official " Tethrd Mantis " Review Thread!

I've never used a saddle, but has anyone tried making a spreader bar for the bridge? For hammocking, they keep the hammock end open to reduce the overlap on shoulders / "pinching" type of situation. Would this be feasible on a saddle? I'm thinking a pvc pipe with "C" shaped ends that is...

    Tethered all the way up

When you unlatch the tag end of the tether to move it around a branch, what's holding you to the tree? Used in this fashion, wouldn't it be using the "minor axis" load rating instead of it's actual load rating? (since the rope is coming into it from an angle)

Now that a lot of you have your brand new Mantis.....

I probably should have said "which has the least learning curve" instead of "ease of use". From what I gather, the SD & RCH would be the more complicated setup to use since it's two independent items functioning in unison to create a safe system whereas the Mantis and TL seem to be user friendly...

Now that a lot of you have your brand new Mantis.....

@jryser I'm not familiar with the TL sizes, would it fit me? 5'10" 220lbs 38" waist. Also, may I ask why you went with the Mantis over the TL, was it to try something new or were there things about the TL you didn't like? I may just pick up a sit drag as everyone is suggesting and just sit off...

Now that a lot of you have your brand new Mantis.....

@DanielB89 between the sit drag and trophy line, which did you find more comfortable? The only reason I haven't gone with the SD & RCH route is because I've tried a few RC harnesses and never could find one that was comfortable, I was in and out of REI too many times haha. I believe the last...

Now that a lot of you have your brand new Mantis.....

I can afford the saddle, it's just I don't want to deal with having to resell it if I don't like it.

Now that a lot of you have your brand new Mantis.....

I was thinking more towards the hunters who just got a mantis and have a kestrel that's been benched for the rest of the season. :)

Now that a lot of you have your brand new Mantis.....

Would any of you be open to letting me borrow your old saddle to try out for a week? Since I haven't made the jump into saddle hunting yet (as I'm the type of individual that prefers to try something first before diving in and spending money), I had the idea to possibly borrow a saddle for a...

    Hello from Central NJ

Morning all, Potential saddle hunter checking in, I'm on the fence about buying a saddle since I've never seen or used one. Is there is anyone near the Princeton area that wouldn't mind meeting up so I can check out their harness?
