    I have run 2 bridges before while testing out some different designs, but not 2 tethers. I do have a stop knot at the end of tether incase the ropeman slips.

    I think you would be ok to go in at midnight as long as you have a good trail, he should be dead by 10:00. At anytime you loose the trail though back out and wait till first light.

    Cold weather saddle hunting question

    My experience from hammock camping would be you need some sort of "under quilt" (modified sleeping bag) to wear on the backside after tethering off. I am sure some of these MacGyver folks on here will come up with a better plan shortly. I hunt in south Georgia so when in gets cold here, you know...

    Why saddle over hang on

    Mainly pound for pound comfort. The treestands that I can sit in all day would put me at 30+ pounds. I can hunt all day in the saddle.

    Yea and we just had a foot/standing platform, you would bear hug the tree and pull your legs up. Then we had a cable that would girth hitch around the tree with a bar on it to hold on to, slide it up the tree as you went … ah the good ole days ...
