    Triad bridge

    I just DIYed 1/4” amsteel loops and 8mm oplux for my bridge. It slide nicely. I’m loving this set up with the Tethrd back band. Sat for 4 hrs tonight and it was my most comfortable sit in 3 years in my Mantis.

    Same here I thought 8 was a little long as a finished length so I went for 7.5’. Try to get a 6-8” burry. That’s what Amsteel manufactures recommend.

    Thanks glad you liked it. I like the moveable aider less rope to maintain. Also the moveable aider lets you cut pretty much as much of the bottom as you want because the aider length won’t change when hung from the top stand off. I love how small they pack.

    Biggest issue I see is the width of the tree and there not being enough slack. I like the idea of a back up bridge without the bulk. Your way sounds pretty simple.

    No doubt it will squeeze you but I’m not sure how you would drop. I certainly see a severe case of hip pinch! Certainly less than ideal but should prevent you from falling for sure giving you an opportunity to recover. I will play with the setup and see the limitations. And post my results

    Agreed. I just picked this rope up from wildedge. I do plan on a better knot. I usually sew the tail end with my speedy stitcher so it cannot come undone at all. I will have to play with the diameter of the tree and see what works and what doesn’t.

    Has anybody tried this before? This seems logical and not too cumbersome. If you run your length of oplux or other tether material back through your bridge loops and connect back to your carabiner. This will protect you from a bridge or even an ascender failure without bringing anything extra...
