    Arctic shield boot covers

I thought about stitching a pocket to hold the hand warmer inside my artic shields just over the toe area but I'm not sure if it will decrease the insulation capability of the shields. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amsteel tether

I agree. I tinkered with it since I had time and materials on hand. I just wanted to see if it could be done. I can now say yes it can be done but I'm not an expert on ropes so I can't speak for the safety aspect. Also compared to Oplux, now that I've had a chance to play with both, can't say...

    Amsteel tether

I'm impressed with the way it's performed so far. I wonder how moisture will affect the prusic. I hate hunting in the rain but sometimes can't be helped. I love hunting in the snow. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amsteel tether

Starting with 20' of 1/4 inch Amsteel nets down to about 9' after the full berry Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amsteel tether

In my opinion, to say something can't be used in a certain way simply because the manufacturer doesn't say it can be is a complete contradiction to the essence of DIY. If that were the case then we should never use a sit-drag or fleece saddle. What about the scooter or LW handclimber platforms...

    Amsteel tether

I think the full berry is what allows this thing to work. It's filling in the hollow core and making it more like a traditional braided rope. I'm not an expert though so I could be totally wrong. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amsteel tether

Good call Dan. Maybe a sleeve will help prevent or slow down the fray. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amsteel tether

I think I prefer to keep the carabiner so my bridge which is also amsteel can slide back and forth more freely. The madrock biner is super light anyways and the whole thing is compact enough as it is. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Amsteel tether

There's a guy on YouTube with a channel called "HowNOTtoHIGHLINE" that does some crazy break tests on amsteel. After seeing his tests, I'm feeling a lot more confident that this is a viable solution. I'm going to continue to test as much as possible until hunting season. If I don't post anymore...

    Amsteel tether

Used 20' of 1/4" full barried for the main and 45" of 1/8" for the continuous loop prusic. I'm starting to test it out in the backyard and I have to say I'm impressed so far. One thing I've noticed and addressed is the locked brummel loop looked questionable with the 180 degree bend when looped...

    Amsteel tether

I was bored being locked up in the house so I went ahead and fiddled. This is what I ended up with. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    JX3 pack options

Thanks, this looks perfect! Man you guys read my mind.... I'm struggling to find a pack that works well with my jx3 and was wondering what others on the forum were doing. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Worst case scenario

Another idea, tie a length of paracord to the stick and clip the other end to you while using. It's one more thing to potentially get wrapped around in but atleast you don't lose it if dropped. Another idea, carry a grappling hook in you dump pouch to recover it. Sent from my SM-G955U using...

Video - Some updates on my JX3 Hybrid System

I can't agree more. Thought I wanted to wait to see how the skinny would turn out but I just got my regular hybrid and it's really not that overwhelming size wise. I'm 5'11" 170.... on another note, I do have one complaint. This thing is crazy comfortable!!! I can seriously see myself...

Skinny guy fighting off hip pinch

I'm not as skinny, 5'11" 170lbs, but a couple of things you can try that worked for me. 1. Switched my bridge from amsteel whoopie sling to 1" HD webbing with a HD slider on both ends. Started with 6' and made my bridge crazy long to start. I adjust my tether height so the bridge is pulled up...

How do you piss out of a saddle?

Up here in the north where temps are single digits you don't have to worry about pee getting on your gear cause it freezes into sleet on the way down. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
