    Using handmuff with saddle

I just posted this in a thread started in "Saddle Info for New Users". I too am interested in this thread. In the past I've used a muff with treestands but have been struggling this year. My saddle/bridge is right where the muff traditionally has gone and where its comfortable. Its awkward to...

    hand warmer muffs & saddles

Not to derail the thread, but all the setting up and taking down with cold hands has been my biggest challenge with saddle hunting. When my hands start to go numb I start to fumble and make noise.

    hand warmer muffs & saddles

I too am interested in this thread. In the past I've used a muff with treestands but have been struggling this year. My saddle/bridge is right where the muff traditionally has gone and where its comfortable. Its awkward to put it higher and my binocs are there. Last night I put it below my...

    Ropeman one on the bridge?

I use my lineman belt with a ropeman as my bridge. I kinda of like the easy quick adjustability. My tether has a prussic so I find myself making slight adjustments to the bridge through out a sit when I shift rather than ever adjusting the pussic on the tether.

    Climbing stick as Platform

I too am new to saddle hunting and this site. This year I've been using the top of my Hawk Heliums with a ameristep on either side. I went this route because it was the cheapest intro to saddle hunting and becuase I can throw the steps in a pouch on my saddle and is quite minimalistic. That said...

dad bod in need of ideas for suspenders for my saddle.

I to have been putting my linemens belt around my neck. Keeping it snug has worked at keeping my sit drag on during walks.

    Silly Question

I'm wearing a RCH which I connect before disconnecting the linemans belt.

    Silly Question

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep an eye out for wear on the bridge or tether. Hip rotation definitely is more difficult than with a smooth metal carabiner.

    Silly Question

I was practicing tonight and decided to connect my bridge (also linemans belt) to my tether by running it thru the prusic and getting rid of the carabiner. Is there anything someone more experienced can point out wrong with doing this? I've been practicing a few times a week this summer and not...

    Sit Drag without RCH

I to use my linemans belt on my sit drag loops with a belt and climbing rated buckle sewed to the sit drag. I do attach my tether to the RCH once I'm to hunting height.

    Adjustable bridges

I've been practicing using my lineman belt with ropeman 1 for my bridge this summer and have liked it. I don't have issues with it getting in the way and it is really easy to adjust. I adjust it to sit vs stand rather than the pussic on the tether

    Straps moving in the wind

How do you guys minimize the risk of all the straps and stuff on your set up (saddle/backpack) moving in the wind and alerting deer? Switching from a stand to a saddle this year it feels like there’s infinitely more straps/rope/cords/etc to blow around. I’m using my linemans belt as my bridge so...

    Silencing carabiners

I bought some camo vet tape from Tractor Supply and wrapped my carabiners this morning. It made a big difference and was quite easy. I'm thinking of wrapping my climbing sticks next, the stuff is really cheap. I obviously can't speak to how well it will hold up. I'd tried heat shrink as I have...

    WTB - Alps Pursuit Pack

I bought one off Camofire.com, I haven't seen it listed on there recently but if you give them a call they may have one in stock yet. I called and they still had some when I bought mine a few months ago. Was like $60.

Most Efficient Way Up a Tree

I hear ya with the challenges of having to climb around obstacles. My struggle pulling my bow up behind me with lots of branches is that it somehow finds its way to crashing into or tangling up in every other branch it seems.

Are you using a certain pack to tie your bow to or are you bungee cording it?

Most Efficient Way Up a Tree

I built a SD/RC saddle this winter and have been practicing every couple days and refining my setup with my climbing sticks. I’d appreciate some input from those of you who have been refining your saddle method for years. I’m working to be the most effective and efficient I can at taking...
