    Tethrd phantom tree saddle

The Phantom is very much improved from the Mantis so that doesn’t make sense. I think it is more growing and maturing as a company and improving efficiencies. I don’t think they have grown out of their pants so to speak at all.

    Tethrd phantom tree saddle

The phantom is very comfortable in my opinion. I did all day sits in the Mantis no problem.

    Tethrd phantom tree saddle

Yeah they are strong. They just loosen a little during a walk-in or hunt. Just aggravating. I don’t think unsafe.

    Tethrd phantom tree saddle

I’ve had mine for a while. I tried one stick climbing with it the other day and the difference in comfort really stood out during that test. It’s legit and on a side note the one stick method is easier than I thought. The belt is the same or similar to the Mantis and other saddle belts. They...

    OnX screwed up????

I just get frustrated with the speed and blurry maps more than anything. Which I think both have improved recently.

    OnX screwed up????

OnX kinda sucks. It’s just that they were first in the game and people, me included have so many waypoints already invested that it makes it hard to switch.

    Madrock Safeguards on Campsaver

Is there an advantage of the safeguard over the lifeguard?

Are there any climbing methods going to be demonstrated? The saddle part comes pretty easy for me but one sticking, repelling, and SRT are some things I have an interest in but have very little knowledge.

    My phantom came today...

Ha. That was my reaction when I first tried a saddle last year.. “Oh, it’s on now.”

    Phantom saddle short review

I think the Molle is made from a little different material and is a little looser, btw.

One Stick, No Stick or Hand Climber

I’ve had a malfunction with the lone wolf hand climber from an improper “mod” but it doesn’t matter because you are tethered to the tree. It is my preferred method of climbing but I come from a climbing stand background.

    Phantom saddle short review

I think the orange leg strap loops, and linesman’s belt loops are going to shine with actual hunting use. I got pretty aggravated with the leg loops on the Mantis. I didn’t notice that much difference in comfort from my Mantis but I haven’t sat in it enough for an informed opinion yet...

    Stiffening the linemans rope?

Thank you for the insight. I was just thinking that it would be easier to flip it up when climbing funky trees with knots etc without getting hung up. The trees in the woods seem to be a lot different than the ones in the how-to videos.

    Stiffening the linemans rope?

Is there DIY method for a stiffening your lineman’s rope? I think if it was stiffer for at least a portion of the circumference it would be easier to maneuver while climbing. I’d like to switch to oplux this year and this is a concern.

*update with results* 580 grains of goodness

The vented IW are the loudest broadhead I have ever shot. I imagine the solids are good though. Like others stated-they hold their edge very well and fly true.

I took it to the next level and switched from a leaf suit to a true Ghillie this year.

    Camo vs solids

In South Carolina I like to wear a leaf suit and a face mask if I can for concealment. It makes sense that deer see movement better with contrasting colors. The same as we see movement from the flick of a tail, ear, or throat patch. It all blends nicely when the deer is still though. In...
