View attachment 84751I put mine in a Boyd Thumbhole. Bedded the action, floated the barrel and shimmed the sear spring. Betty breaks at 1.2# and is deadly. Before bedding it shot the Hornady stuff better than CCI and once it was glassed it stacks the 20gr. I absolutely love that rifle. It never leaves my truck unless it’s in my hands or I’m going somewhere where I can’t have in here.
A fellow tinkerer. NiceI put mine in a Boyds Tacticool stock, pillar bedded/sleeved, epoxy bedded the stock/action, set flush cups for sling in the off side, painted, installed kydex cheek riser, installed the rail on the bottom, replaced bottom metal with DIP stuff, and trigger work. Originally mine came in a royal jacaranda colored thumbhole stock. I actually sold it, bought two different .17HMR rifles which didn't shoot as well, and then I bought it back haha!
A fellow tinkerer. Nice
I’ve never made money doing it but all my friends have had their stuff tinkered on at one time or another. Bedded or trigger work. Stock work is my favorite though. I’ll modify and reshape them then refinish them.

That barrel is awesome. And a Savage is probably the last action I'd expect to see done up like this. Excellent.View attachment 84805View attachment 84806This is my personal deer rifle. It’s a Remington 700 with a barrel nut in 6.5x55 SwedeThat barrel is awesome. And a Savage is probably the last action I'd expect to see done up like this. Excellent.
Criterion Barrel was sent to LRI and it’s called wrought iron flute. PTG bolt and shroud with same pattern. Skeltonized bolt handle and a Triggertech trigger assembly. Blue printed action and head spaced by a great smith in town. It shoots very good with custom loaded 135gr Berger Classics over 49.9gr of Rl 23.That's a Remington 700 or clone of a sort! Looks like possibly a Twisted Barrel flute job or some other custom/semi-custom mfg. Really nice rifle setup, my guess based off of visuals, customized Remington 700.
Well @CZMark did you purchase something?
The barrel nut and bolt handle confused me. I thought it reminded me of a Savage Axis bolt handle. How embarrassing, I've got both a 700 (ADL in an MDT chassis) and Savage 110 in the safe...It’s a Remington 700 with a barrel nut in 6.5x55 Swede
I built my friend one same caliber on an Axis frame with a Boyds stock and Criterion barrel. It shoots phenomenal also. The barrel nut and bolt handle confused me.
