Who prefers which and why? Any disadvantages/advantages other than the obvious (an extra step).

Thanks!

3 step 15-16“… once the stick Is moved the step comes right down to my foot. No wasted effort trying to get my foot in.

The 2 step is added effort. Have to lift myself up to get in there.

3 steps. I set mine up alternating sides at 15” and my stick is 17”. My thoughts are make being on that swinging aider as easy as possible for safety, hence the aider steps being shorter than the stick steps.

Three Step @ 15" spacing. Sometimes I can gain a little height with the 3rd step but like enkriss, I like that a step ends up just right to slip my right foot into without advancing. More comfortable/less effort IMO

I originally had a 2 step 20" spacing on my EWO onestick but I changed it out for a 3 step 15" spacing and much prefer it.

Definitely 3 step . Don't always need it but it's a big plus when still on the ground and when you need it/can use it in the tree you'll be glad you have it

Definitely 3-step. I have 16” spacing but I’m 6’1” and slim. It would be too much effort with just 2 steps although I could do it. As said before, it’s nice having that 3rd step right there at you foot. Makes advancing up much easier

I got rid of all my 3 steppers.
Two is all I need. The very first 'set' is the only time I miss a three step aider...

3- 15". Like @enkriss said. If the tree is pretty strait, and I can set the stick right up under my rope, the loop is right there for my foot.

What stick length does everyone use that has a 3 step 15” aider? I’m thinking about getting the 18” EWO ultimate stick with a 3 step 15” aider.

no shorter than 12” and no longer than 15” for me.

Not sure if it matters but I was thinking of 15” stick with 15” aiders just for consistency, especially in the dark.

Do you think I should get the 15” or 18”? I had the 12” and it seemed too short. I was either hitting my shin on the scout or I had to bend my legs awkwardly.

I tried a short one stick and the UPS platform jams into my shins when i stand on the lower step. A 18" stick alows me to stand more naturally.

Agree. I felt the 3rd step made the process alot easier, at least for me. The 3rd step was right at my foot, so I wasn't trying to get my leg up as high. Keep in mind I am not the most flexible person on the planet either.
