In the middle of a swamp. Almost went swimming to get to this tree.

New run and gun spot. He's too hoping my scouting on the way in pays off.


Last night's swamp adventure took me three hours to get out. While I hung in the saddle the swamp was melting. It was not the greatest time. Lost my hat somewhere in there.

I think the deer are messing with me, huge buck in my parents front yard just laying in the snow without a care in the world never had a chance to get a picture as my sisters dog finally noticed it and he took off.

Due to freezing rain while turkey hunting PA yesterday, I was in a blind when this guy walked by at 7:20AM. Tomorrow starts buck season and I’ll be swinging from a saddle come Wednesday hoping for a shot if he is still around. Must work Mon and Tues... Aaarrrggg!

So glad that i have the HYBRID so that i can rotate completely around tree without standing up. These 2 doe snuck in at 25 yards from behind me and i rotated slowly to put the tree between me and them, plus i kept them on my bow side (shooting side). I moved slow and they never new i was there.
Notice that my muddy stix are on the opposite side of tree.

And was getting ready to do a live report this afternoon when I heard a deer coming from directly behind me....

Young buck at my 7 o’clock. Then I heard something at my 5 o’clock. Fat doe. Swung around to right and shot her, lol.

PA rifle opener, looking at rain all day, still a little snow on the ground, didn't get out as early as I'd planned, ugh. I'm about 50 yards above a line of rubs, bedding beyond the rubs, hoping this guy(the one in my parents front yard yesterday morning) cruises by.

Took my 10 yr old daughter out this afternoon and she took here first deer. We actually were able to double up. 2 more does for freezer. Fun to share these moments together.

No luck in PA, heard 4 gun shots from the neighboring property around 1000 opening day, still waiting for my dad to have beers with that property owner and get the story, really hope it wasn't the big one lol, I might be able to get back for the late archery season, we'll see I didn't do so good in the rain and snow. Rivers West is great but I couldn't keep my hands dry lol

Hunted Oklahoma this am, had a doe at 10-12 yards, didn't shoot, freezer is @#$%& slapped already. Hoping for a bigger contest buck though. Scouted a spot I set up over a month ago, sign everywhere, going there in am.

Setup lower than I wanted to this morning, sticks and hand climber, big tree thought i could climb it once i got to the top of my sticks, i couldn't still too big, got busted moving by Momma doe, she gave me another chance which I also messed up. First one was before legal shot time, couldn't see crap lol, now I'm trying to decide how long to freeze my butt off for lol, oh and I left my saddle at home, using my back brace right now, it's been a crazy morning!

I guess I’ll start December off...

Set up on a water oak flat. Left the platform on the ground and just nestled up in some limbs....

I mean....does it get any better than that???

I see some movement in front of me to my right. Bino scan. Nothing. Make a full pass with the binos and as I’m counting hairs on this squirrel’s tail 10 yards to my left I hear em. Wound up being at least 7. Lead doe was angling towards me and when she hit the lane my milkweed had been drifting down all morning she stopped and got buggy. Stomped, blew, whirled and trotted back the way she came.

But she stopped broadside at about 50 yds.

Loving this whole saddle gig.

Dang, nice work! I did 4 hours this morning before the rain came in, had 2 walking under me before first light and nothing after that, sad face At least this time I was high enough they didn't see me fidgeting, lol!
