2018 Live from the saddle....

How come I keep seeing deer before I can shoot them then....... nothing?

Quick sit before work today, 2 moved through while I was climbing, it's always when my RCH is really uncomfortable lol. I guess it's good that I'm seeing deer, didn't spook any today. Frustrated!

It’s a crisp 18 degrees right now. This is my second sit in my new Kestrel. I got the back band with it so I thought I would give it a try and I like it a lot!

Nasty weather here today. Cold rain/sleet/snow. Combine that with this nasty coughing and stopped up head I’ve got and decided my chances of being miserable were much greater than my chances of seeing anything so I stayed on the couch.

You oughta be out of the rain way up there, lol.

Nice work, congrats!

Not exactly live....to dam cold to play on the phone at 4*. Out all day trying to put another doe in the freezer during the antlerless season. Hit a property I’ve never been on. Tracks everywhere but only saw a huge doe and a fawn on private land. I was 50 yds from them and I think they were on to me. Would have had to come within 25 for a shot on public. Oh well, found another spot to add to the list for the boney ones.

Decided to take my 5 year old for his first hunt. Gave him an old grunt call and let him have fun.

Now I'm not an expert but I don't think deer celebrate Christmas. Either way, I learned he can play a pretty good jingle bells.
