2018 Live from the saddle....

Group of 3 cruised by well out of range, hoping they come back this way!

Another group just went by on the same path, crap lol if I was in the same tree that I was in last time I was here I probably would have had a shot, oh well, fingers crossed

A little hang time with Ben this evening. We found some fresh rubs just outside of a good bedding area, it’s been untouched since mid October in here while all the neighbors are putting pressure all around it. Fingers crossed for the boy.

Tried a couple things different on this hunt.
1) a lower tether than I have before and 2) I shortened my bridge a couple inches.

I don’t think the shorter bridge does anything for or against comfort; at least not at the amount I shortened it.

3) I’m also trying out these versa straps. I got it as tight as I could and it’s a little looser than I like. I’ll play with it al e more before I give a biased review.

Finally got back in the (TL) saddle again this morning. Didn’t see anything, but the tree was in a good spot and really good cover. The main trunk split into four parts, with a handle built-in platform. Felt good to be hangin’ again even though the movement was slow.

Back in the hog woods yesterday. Saw three but no shot. Last picture is how I’m backing up my ropeman and bridge, it came up on another thread. Personally I don’t back up my tether but it’s simple to back up the ropeman and bridge with a single Prusik.

Snowshoed out a ways to test out my new srt setup. Figured I'd bring the bow in case a buck comes by.

I’m 18’ up an oak. I took the lazy way. I’m in the saddle but hanging over my wife’s ladder stand. Made for an easy climb. Is this cheating?526869FF-434A-4A0C-8536-1E6EB52BBF59.jpeg
