Haha I'm on dad duty this weekend while momma is working. Our temps are still in the 90s anyway
Me too!!! She's an RN and has to work every other weekend at the hospital. Its killing me I couldn't get out this am because the temps are perfect here in WNY and my wife said she saw a monster crossing to one of the areas I hunt yesterday am. Yesterday I was able to put up a climbing stick on private land I hunt near some super rubs. I also made a mock scrape with a grape vine hang down.

Here's those two real nice signpost rubs I scouted out yesterday. They both have fresh shavings at the bottom of the tree. There are more rubs in back of me as you face the picture. They are all facing back towards the field so I put up an old Summit climbing stick I have about 20 or so yards almost straight back to the ridge line. This wind is predominantly from the S or SW and we are facing SE in this picture so I'll come from the east in the AM and set up hoping to intercept him coming back in toward his bedding area. Holy shaloo, that's a serious diameter tree he has rubbed. Looking forward to see the grip and grin and hearing the story. Good luck and score us some points!

Those were some awfully big spikes to miss. Must've been all the excitement of the moment.

I saw three deer around my stand on that afternoon sit. I was posted on an inside corner off a fallow field between a wooded/brushy creek drainage and apples. At that convergence of the inside corner, creek drainage etc. it is very brushy and the deer skirt that corner, its a great pinch. Prior to this deer coming in, a fork-spike came in and I wasn't even completely settled in yet, my bow was still on the ground. I let him pass on his way to feed and I finished getting set up. About five minutes later that 3 point came running back right under me. He never blew or anything and settled down and worked his way back toward bedding. About 20 minutes later two deer came through where that forky walked earlier. the first was a doe and I thought this was a doe too. The deer stopped with its head behind a tree offering a nice shot. I figured I'd put a doe on the ground. Upon the shot I noticed his spikes.

Meat is meat... sounded like a great time in the woods.

Do you guys know if we can we upgrade a doe to a buck later on if we end up getting 2 doe early on for the contest? I know we can replace a smaller buck for a bigger one.
