I came to a dead stop the other day after two deer crossed the road in front of me. One had 3" velvet antlers,wowzer.
I also joined the hunting beast site and man is there a lot of great information on there.
See if i can apply some of that to my hunting this year. I am ready to take my hunting to the next level,which shouldn't be that hard it is at a low level now. I get freezer queens,but we have a lot of does around. The bigger bucks are a different story...They are around but of course harder to get.

Well, I'm not. I have eaten enough baby pigs that I relish the idea of eating a baby deer. I hear they skin like rabbits too.

35 days to go here, got out and started bareshaft tuning my bow. Fletched shafts and bare shafts slapping each other at 20 yards, should be good to go

Am I hyped? I just found a giant buck on a property I have exclusive permission to hunt. What do you think? 46 extremely long days.

I just informed the wife about the buck stash. That said, I think she'll be rooting for me to kill a buck instead of being indifferent this year. She did ask, "so what happens if you don't get a buck this year?" To which I replied, "I hope you like me in a stache."

Usually late August early September, if you kill prior to picking teams usually still good.

Yep, if your season opens, and you kill before the contest starts make sure you get a pic that meets the contest rules and hold onto it.
