just found out I’ll be traveling for work the first two weeks of the season :( so much for moving the season up 2 weeks in the zone I hunt.
 
Probably wont help my team much. Only pics I have is a couple does and a small 6pt that I will probably let him walk this year. Its weird. Had around 15 consistant deer on my lease (100acres) last year and didnt hunt very hard. Killed a 9pt off it, had a bigger one that I never seen during shooting hours, but its like all the deer have left. Hoping its just summer patterns but we have about 20 acres of cornfields. You would think I would have more pics than just 3 deer....
Maybe hunting Public this year will pay off.
But am I still Hyped? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Man with hurricane Laura hitting Louisiana and pushing the mosquitoes up north in the state it’s hurt the deer movement. Most people aren’t seeing deer on cameras anymore, they aren’t in the woods, more out in the open which makes it hard to hunt these jokers. I sure hope the skeeters disappear so that people can get to shooting deer October 1st!

Your not alone, the mosquito population here in Arkansas is bad now. Over the last three weeks it’s become brutal. I have a Thermacell Tiki Torch in our yard sitting area and these mosquitoes hover over it. Never have I seen it ineffective before

I been scouting some public over in the delta of AR and holy hell since hurricane Laura the skeeters are terrible. Doesnt matter what ya put on or do. The dang things are drinking deep woods off like its water and having dance offs on the plate of the thermacell. Only thing I've had luck doing is just walk quick and scout quick. If ya stop for any length of time you'll be bloody. I gotta go pull 6 cameras this weekend, hopefully these coolers temps knock um down some...

Man it’s absolutely insane, never in my life have I seen mosquitoes this bad! They have pushed the deer out of the woods, they are killing deer and livestock, and if you are in the woods you better not stop for a single second because they will make you beg for mercy!! They will have a big impact on the hunting this season for sure!

Yep for sure! Supposed to get down in the 50s for a couple nights this weekend so I'm hoping that slows um down. Of course last February when it was in the 40s I was dealing with skeeters lol

Man I wish that would happen here...mid 60’s is the lowest here with highs in the low 90’s. It’s like spring break/Marci gras in cancoon/bourbon street for those fools in our woods and all they want to do is party!

Where I live season opened first week in Aug. No does on public in the Everglades that I know of but I don't shoot them anyhow. Does make Bucks was always my thought process. I hunted my butt off in Aug. and couldn't make it happen. I get off work on the 23rd and will be hunting farther N the ruts over in the Everglades.

Guys, get some RynoSkin for the mosquitoes. I used it last year after I got eat up by seed ticks. Ticks and mosquitoes can’t bite through it. It is a little hot and sweaty but not too bad.

You and me both...These next cold nights are going to drive me crazy. My therapy will be to work my heinie off getting my firewood taken care off. I hate having that task hanging over me when the season kicks off.

Man if you need firewood drive to Louisiana, there’s more hardwood laid down than you can shake a stick at and most people are giving it away hand over fist. People have enough firewood to last for SEVERAL years!
