2024 Gear thread

Just got the 3 tonight. Did some various testing side by side with a reveal 2.0. I cannot tell a single iota of difference in picture or video quality. And the 3.0 was much more inconsistent than the 2.0 at picking me up. The 2 saw me almost 5 more yards away than the 3.0 by watching their low glow lights come on. Not impressed at all so far. They also moved the SD card slot to the left side where the tray is always in your way to insert it. Id pick up some more 2.0s if your debating it1000024929.jpg

I thought the picture was supposed to be wider angle?

I didn't get them perfectly lined up but you be the judge. The 3.0 is slightly wider, at the consequence of height. The height of the reveals is what sets them apart IMO. You can throw them 10 ft up in trees to deter theft and not lose much because of that aspect ratio. The 2.0 is more detailed. And yes, max quality was set on both cams.

That’s beat…. I haven’t been to thrilled about the SD quality on my reveals. Cant make much out unless you get the HD version. If these are worse…. Hard pass

Granted I’m just comparing videos but I think the tree Styx blow these things out of water.
The TL sticks for sure would need to be stealth stripped and lack the built in aider. But they are one piece construction and metal so from a durability standpoint I could definitely see some folks leaning that way, not to mention price difference. So far both look like good options to me. Not sure which way I would go if I were in the market for a new set.

Dude hadn’t researched it much at all before filming. Wasn’t familiar with the material, made them seem like the loudest sticks ever created and sounded unsure when he listed the size/weight specs… I had hands on these a couple times now and they were nowhere near that loud for me. My only true complaint with them was the standoff distance. I need more foot space from the tree.

All of this. Although they weren’t that loud when I was playing with them at the expos…

If I were a size 10.5 or smaller shoe, I’d use them over the tree styx or the one sticks as well. The way they stack and the way they bite the tree is extremely similar to the lwcg sticks but they are around half a pound lighter per stick.

I love the Kuiu stuff but they are missing out on a bunch of sales to all of us short inseam fellas. I like a 29-inch inseam on hunting pants and can get by with 30's. I have hemmed several pairs but won't do that if they have zippers in the lower legs. Seems everyone is over six foot these days.:disappointed:
They do have short inseam in some pants but not all styles. Even then the short isn't a 29" tho

If you tuck them in your boots to keep the ticks off, a little extra length shouldnt be a problem anyway.
We have at least 2 seasons here in Michigan. Road construction/ tick season, and less road construction/ no ticks season. Hunting generally coincidences with no ticks lol

I don’t like the basic v shaped stand offs vs those that have multiple teeth that dig into the tree such as a beast stick. The attachment method looks inferior to me compared to sticks that use some kind of rope cleat method. They are very light and they stack efficiently I’ll give them that.
