2024 Gear thread

Hadn’t seen it until now, thought it was new.

I’ve just the regular Blackbelt saddle. Most comfortable saddle I’ve tried. There’s things I like better about my other saddles but for blind comfort I think it tops them all.

The Ultimate is quite a bit more cash, especially in camo. Ultimately, lol, it still costs less than owning 4 different saddles like I do.

If it’s the one! Solid money spent. lol.

It is definitely on the high side. I liked some of the concepts and wanted to try it, and I agree the comfort level there is beyond most anything I have tried. There are things I don't like, too, but then again that has been the case with all the saddles I have tried. I like the idea of the "system" they supposedly had coming out for these, but they have "supposedly" had things coming out for a long time now.

At the 20% off you paid for it, it’s only $3 more than the Phantom Elite kit. Same camo, lol.

Fanboy warning, but the exo k4 2200 has been working well for me as a late season saddle hunting pack. I've been using it with the lid, larger lid pocket fits ring of steps and smaller one fits my gear hanger/whatever else I need in the tree. One stick straps to the outside of the pack just fine and doesn't interfere with bucking lid (or unbuckling to get at inner pockets) I don't see any lack of function compared to the MR popup id been using previously. It is a bit overkill for a day hunt, but then again so was the popup if I'm being realistic.

Honestly, I’d love to see EXO do better in a (whitetail) day pack (for 2024).

The ‘2023 2200 pack is out there already. If it works well as you suggest, then…problem solved. But it’s not exactly working for me so far. However, the lightweight frame seems pretty legit.

TBH, even a Tethrd FAS pack can handle a ROS and gear hanger and ONE stick. Far cheaper packs can as well. Need a mountaineering frame and bag and a lid to do that? Many will answer that mail.

The whole shebang of the 2200 over K3 1800 is the top pocket design…and you’re adding a lid atop that? Meh. I think a more specific design would do better. Idk, but the 2200 is not one of my favorite designs.

Some basic dimensional redistribution would make a much better pack, imo, for a 2200 for 2024.

I loved the standard 2200 configuration for early season. Mid thru late-season it fell apart for me organizationally... Primarily the space for layers was lacking, the lid doesn't have enough space to offset for bulky items, and I don't like strapping clothing to the outside. I would love to see a 3000-3600 redesigned similar to the 2200 configuration, they all compress down small anyway, and I dislike changing my bag mid-season, so I'm probably just using the current 3600 going forward...

Nice to see they are selling prototypes to the masses….

Let the consumer do the testing. We have seen that before…lol

This is a no win situation for a vendor. I have no idea what product testing they did prior to release but, if you come out with a product and your consumers give you several ideas on how to make it better you have two choices.

Make the changes and have people slam you for letting consumers do your testing or, don't make the changes and have people slam you for not listening to your consumers.

Now, if the changes are safety related shame on them but, if the changes are to make it more functional based on customer feedback good for them.

It’s not a good design. The platform leveling is the climbing belt/amsteel? So you have to contend with all that in the way? Why even have it a came over platform at height? Seems like a step backwards from the LW handclimber top.
