Here’s my 2024 Ohio buck and also my first out here. Sat the same stand until Wednesday afternoon and realized I needed to make a move after seeing most of the bucks crossing a saddle and running a certain ridge. Did an all day sit in my saddle on Thursday and saw a wide shooter twice with no shot. I left everything in the tree except my backpack.
Friday morning, I clipped into my tether and heard something coming in the dark. I had over 9 bucks chasing the same doe right by my stand in the perfect spot. At 7:10 a small half rack I’d seen a half dozen times during the week cruised by. 25 minutes later I heard one coming and looked and all I saw was a giant frame and got ready as he was 30 yds and closing fast on the hot does trail, nose to the ground.
I drew back and settled my pin where he was going to cross and he came right into view and I missed at 5 yds! I have no clue what happened there and either did he luckily. He walked another 10 yds as I was nocking an arrow and I stopped him in the only lane I had left before he was gone and that shot hit the mark. He went about 100 yds and piled. Had an unbelievable week. I missed him with a sevr and made the kill shot with a grim reaper 3 blade. We did a rough tape at 184 3/8.

Holy Cow!!!! Tank!! Congrats man!!!

Awesome buck! Congrats. My first time hunting in Ohio this year as well and obviously you have it figured out much better than I do, all I can find is Amish unloading by the van loads in ever spot I have gone. I am really glad to hear someone on here has done it their first time out there! Again, congrats!

this was with an outfitter, not DIY. But they did allow me to make some moves which was awesome and it paid off

What are the requirements for Ohio? I’m considering a change up and I’m within a couple of hours of northeastern OH.

You wouldn’t happen to be on team 9 would you? If not, we have openings.

Fine buck deer. Vitamin P claims another victim.
Haha I should have joined a team 2 years in a row now. Of course the year I do join I won’t see anything lol
