2025 Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

Did my first track workout in forever (decades?) tonight. Tried to channel my inner @GreginPA but not sure if I did, messed up my watch a bunch but oh well. Decent workout, will keep going back to club workouts on nights my schedule allows 5x1k with 2 min/200 m rest, dynamic warmup and mile jog cool down
I saw that on Strava! nice work! group track workouts gave me huge gains.

Last night I was at my track club and had to watch my crew do a workout while I ran easy to recover, not a fan of that. But I'm excited that my soreness from the race has mostly faded. Going to do 5M easy today to verify and then hoping to get back to my regular schedule!
 
Pretty sure I have 2 buddies that are gonna do this relay with me. We won’t be setting any course records but we’ll have a real good time. @thedutchtouch get 2 more fools from in here in this with ya

Officially signed up for this if anyone wants to join. Planning to do the Frederick Half the week after as well but need to wait and see what my sons flag football schedule is going to look like first
 
Got a sloooow 5k in last night. Time to majorly focus on the aerobic base and pound zone 2 runs. Gonna hate it in the short term but should pay off long term. Will mix in some tempo here and there too. Plan to get 4-5 miles in tomorrow morning then have a wedding I have to travel to this weekend so probably no workouts after that. Back at it Monday or Tuesday
 
Have any of you guys tried clear whey protein? I almost picked some up to try yesterday but decided to look into it a little more. Myprotien has a sale for 45% off everything and free shipping over $50 , so I'm probably going to try some stuff from them.

Clear as in unflavored? I would go with bulk supplements if that’s the case. They have a store on Amazon. Also mix with milk because unflavored thicker water is kinda weird.

These are more like a flavored water type of thing, like the various powders you can buy but with whey protein in them.

The first time I tried whey I bought unflavored and had it in v water. Big mistake, lol. So gross! Flavored whey is ok in water though lol

Edit to add: pretty sure there are other "clear" whey on the market. That's the brand they had in store so that's what I was looking into. I haven't tried them yet but I'm almost certainly going to try them. I don't use a lot of whey but I'm out, and it would be cool to use in place of electrolytes during the day

Did a fast 2 miler at lunch Friday before the wind and fire got to our fair state. Did 9 on trails Saturday morning - I probably smelled like a hot link when I was done. Everything is smoky here.

That should be fine. Might be weird with milk
 
Half HR treadmill easy day today. My club is supposed to do 10-14*400 at the track tomorrow but I'm not going to be able to make it because of the childrens. May try to recreate on my own during the day but I don't think any tracks are available during those hours so it'll likely turn into a (paved) trail interval session for me. not sure of the plan yet.
