Try hunting a crooked tree with a Windwalker, I did that once and never hunted in one again so I sold it and bought a .5 that has platform and seat leveling and you can set it up in almost any tree.Get a wind walker from treehopper llc ND forget the Ford vs Chevy talk
Are you guys comfortable with the regular .5 or are you upgrading the seat size? I really want to pull the trigger but I’m afraid it’s going to be small or uncomfortable.
I’m 5’11” 190 and I prefer the standard post with the medium seat. Are you guys comfortable with the regular .5 or are you upgrading the seat size? I really want to pull the trigger but I’m afraid it’s going to be small or uncomfortable.
I’ve had the .5 a couple seasons, tkbooner above nailed it, just get the .5 and be done with it, if I had to do it over again I would probably get the medium seat as well, maybe not I really have no complaints, I’m almost 6’1” and find the seat post height to be perfect for when I’m in my saddle running it as a hybrid for my knees, I have the extra thick cushion, I bought mine the same way when they had the gift card discount a couple years ago and got 4 mini sticks with a bunch of other stuff, all of the things I’ve bought the past few years my LWCG has not been for sale, I literally cleaned house of everything else I owned and have stuck with my .5 and Ambush, and I have no desire to change.Never thought about seat size for knee space. I'm only 5'6" so it's the standard post for me. That's one reason I didn't consider the .75 and a few other stands, because you can only get the 18" seat post in the .5. I think 20" or 22" would be too high for my knees, and I sit a lot so that's important to me. Really, you could probably go with the largest seat, and it wouldn't really change much. May add a few ounces but riding in the pack position it's still as out of the way as the small seat.
I had issues with the .5 on small trees. I sold it specifically for that reason. If the beast stand had more leveling on the post, it would be far superior. As they’re both sold, I still prefer the beast because of that v.
What issues did you have? My .5 had more problems with bigger trees It would kick out some times with one strap. I really like the stand just wish it had a wide V and teeth all the way to the center.I had issues with the .5 on small trees. I sold it specifically for that reason. If it had teeth all the way to the center I think it would be great. It would spin or rotate on small trees. What issues did you have? The .5 is a great stand just could be really great with a few changes! All sead I ordered a new one mostly for the 18in seat post and saddle hunting. Beast stand seat was to hight for me and was hurting my back.If it had teeth all the way to the center I think it would be great. It would spin or rotate on small trees.

Size of a softball? U must be a hummingbird....I’ll get you a measurement tonight on the smallest points of contact on a .5 … I have hunted trees the size of a softball or a little smaller with no issues personally.
