Some have both.
Do you have a favorite or do they each have their own place?

I'm about to pull the trigger on the fix but that .5 keeps calling me.
I already own a 1.0 and 2 sets of LWCG sticks... 20" doubles and four of their full size sticks. I've looked at other platforms but my mind is set on LWCG... Just looking for some feedback.
Thank you!

I would go with a .5, there is plenty of saddle platform lighter then the fix, but nothing is lighter with all the features of the .5.

If I’m running sticks, which is a normal early season hunt, under 1/2 mile in, the .5 gets the pick, the compatibility with sticks is unmatched, grab that little stand and sticks with a small fleece pack riding on the shelf and climb any tree anywhere. If I’m going in deep, and using bolts, then I take my Ambush, and this season it’s riding on the meat shelf of a Stryker xl/duplex lite, which will be my main system most of the season for me because of how I hunt. I was tempted to try a fix but in all honesty I have no good reason, I’m completely satisfied with what I got and feel with those 2 setups I can handle any situation, anytime, anywhere, I got rid of a couple dump truck loads of tree stands a few years ago from my basement when I learned about saddle hunting and streamlined my entire operation to those 2 packages, and I tried almost everything talked about on here quite often, I have no desire to switch anytime soon, I think most people who hunt mobile would be better off just owning one kick ass tree stand and saddle platform, or just keep it super simple and run only something like a .5 in a hybrid setup all the time, so to answer the original question, if running sticks the .5 is the win for me, any other climbing method I’m taking the Ambush every time.

I may need to look at the ambush more than I have but I'm picking up what you're putting down regarding keeping it simple. I'm in the process of selling a bunch of OG lone wolf stands and sticks. I like my 1.0. It has a place for now but I'm going to order the .5 with the tall seat post and mesh seat. I'll give it a season to see if I need to sell the 1.0 but I'm going to buy either the fix or ambush too... maybe I'll get both and sell the one that looses that race.

The main point I picked up is you pointing out 1 kick ass stand and saddle platform. We are on the same page and that's the goal I have.

I own both and am super pleased with both. Im a big dude.
5.9-275 and buying these two were the best thing ive done in years.
I Bought a 1.0 few years back and then bought a .5.
The .5 is for me is the best stand ive ever owned and probably the last I will buy.
“Well we shall see lol.”
I recently sold the 1.0 and bought the fix platform. I also traded my full length beast sticks for beast stick mini’s.
man I am glad i did.
i own 18 inch double-step sticks and love them but, I feel that I will like a set of 14 inch double steps to use with the fix platform.
I just feel that would be the ultimate compact setup.
I am actually looking to trade up even.
Ive been practicing a ton on my fix and my .5. My plan is to most likley use my fix platform early season and hunts where im either scouting with setup on back and bow in hand.
(Probably alot during the rut.)
I will use my .5 setup when i know im going to be in a certain area.
I will and always scout my way in no matter what I use.
It really depends on the situation.
But, man to have both options is worth every cent.
money well spent.
I highly recommend beast mini’s or any lwcg systems.
here is a link on a bowtie video I did recently
Hope this helps

I've heard said that saddles kind of force proper T-form, and should therefore result in increased accuracy. Hype? I don't know.

But I'll choose the .5 for archery over the Fix for all but my most grueling treks, solely because I'm no Spiderman. I'd rather shoot from a stand. Especially on the (ever more popular "mobile") hang and hunts I do, where the probability of a buck coming in unexpectedly is greater. (Whereas, the trend seems to be towards the smallest footholds for that type of hunting.)

The Fix isn't too small by any means, but it's not a stand either. The Out On A Limb Ridge Runner XL is more stand-like for certain.

But for a packable platform that you can get into the crap and haul in deep, the Fix offers enough real estate for most archery shots without having to dangle. It hits that middle ground.

For gun hunting, standing shots to either side of the tree are a draw. The .5 offers the benefit of bracing in a seated forward shooting position.

And for me, all day gun sits are usually pretty cold so the stand makes adjusting layers no trick. As well, kneeing into the seat pad or even sitting can be a nice change of pace.

But the Fix is a better choice for hunts where still hunting or tracking might be in the cards.

Obviously systematize and streamline whatever you choose.

I like repeatability of a single solution "platform", but a Swiss Army knife doesn't do everything well enough for me. I'd be very happy with just the .5, but think a saddle platform benefits me situationally.

For me I will have a saddle platform and a Lightweight Landon stand. Totally 2 different systems that I will use depending on where I hunt. Over many years of hunting whitetails out of a tree I find that for most part it's 180 degree shooting. Now there have been times when deer come behind me but rarely based on where I set up. I always try to set up so deer are never behind be and down wind. So that being said I either set up a hang on to shoot right to left or set up in a tree in a saddle when I can shoot most easily strong arm. Thats me. Others may have different approach.

I have both. First year running both so we’ll see if there’s one I end up grabbing more than the other. I will say that from playing with the .5 I’m pretty excited about it.

Early season there are a few spots I get in that are pretty low and all the trees are pretty bushy, don’t carry extra layers and hunts are usually shorter so I’ll probably default to the fix.

But after a few years of using different platforms I know one thing, the early season is not when I’m wanting more out of a platform. So I think that October 20- January I’ll grab that .5 a ton. I’m sure there will be times I still go with the fix though. Also I’ve never been a sitter in a saddle. Didn’t like bulky knee pads and wasn’t a fan of cushions. I use knee pads in my Sitka timberline pants but on a round tree or a smaller trees just never like it. But putting my knees on the completely flat stable seat cushion on the bottom of the seat is way better.

Not sure my ramblings help haha
