I have been using Samson predator for a rappel rope with a double michoacan for the past 2 years and finally bought a new rope and downsized to rescue tech. Sterling 6mm trc seems to be hard to get. Any experience with other cords that are recommended that you have experience with?

There is a whole thread on friction hitches with a lot of discussion on which cord with which rope. It’s a good size thread but lots of good info. It might help point you in the right direction.

Call Samson and ask what they recommend. When I called Sterling for recommendations for my C-IV, customer support told me any accessory cord with a nylon or polyester jacket would be compatible.

Do you want TRC for its MBS? Eastern woods outdoors has 6mm accessory cord by the foot but it's about half the strength.

My intended use is that I got a new rappel/tether rope for one sticking. It is 8mm resc tech. I plan to use a double michoacan as my friction hitches to keep on the rope, I descend via a fig 8 or super munter on a biner below the double michoacan. The recommended cord for friction hitches seems to be sterling 6mm trc, which is quite difficult to find right now. Are there any satisfactory substitutes?

I am not sure about the regular 6mm or 7mm accessory cord as it doesn't seem it is used all that frequently for this purpose.

Super slow lead time, it's busy season. I'm not sure that would work timing wise.

I can't vouche for this company but it appears in stock:

RDA is a recognized name, I believe. A little cheaper. Hope that helps!

Standard accessory cord aka hitch cord is what is normally used in this application. As always check MBS rating to ensure it's stout enough. If you have an REI or climbing store or even a climbing gym nearby they will almost certainly have a suitable 6mm cord.
