7 bolts to 21 feet high

Any reason why the Workhorse aider wouldn't work here?

Not the right tool for the job. Could you make it work? Probably. However, the Workhorse is designed to go over both sides of a climbing stick. The best aider for bolts has a single strand with a small loop to go over a single bolt. It’s less clutter and does the job perfectly well.

I got a piece of 1/2” hose today for foot comfort. I think I have the distance dialed in for the correct loops, gonna put some tape in them so they stay open. I can see why someone would use amsteel and just a couple of loops.

I've tried this method and used a 2 carabiners in the loops to hook over the bolt/strap on step. One at the height to make the step up and the other to stand with feet even to put up next strap on step.

Good idea. To eliminate metal on metal noise, I’m thinking I may try continuous loop amsteel girth hitched in place of your carabiners. Or soft shackles.

Now I’m thinking about spicing aluminum descender rings on to Amsteel dog bones instead of loops. Strong, lightweight, easy to get on and off of bolts and can be quiet with a little vet wrap or hockey tape.
