72 year old .35

.32 Special I inherited from my grandpap. Still have yet to take a deer with it but going to take it out to try to get a doe this year.

I never had much problem buying shells for it but that was pre-covid I imagine now I better be scrupulous with the few boxes I have.

That’s a beautiful rifle! Take it out and have some fun with it.

I have a 30-30 I haven't been able to get shells for for 2years now. Fortunately, my late father-in-law has a stash I been using. The 150gr you can get before season for sure, but my experience with anything under 170gr (I know 20gr difference right) they get a good run in before crashing.

My daughter hunts with her grandpa’s 30-30. She dropped this deer in its tracks with a 150 grain power point. She made a high shoulder shot that wadded him up.

Love the .35 Remington caliber, one of my favorite all time whitetail rounds for here in northern Michigan. That's a beautiful rifle!

While I sort of miss the demise muzzleloaders here in the south for primitive weapons seasons. It's cool to see the renewed interest in larger calibers. I know tons of guys that have switched to the 35 Whelen (less so with the 35 Rem but that's what I use now) for all their deer hunting regardless of the season.
