Any of you fellers tried something along these lines? My son suggested it so I thought I'd give it a go. It does streamline the horizontal profile while carrying and drops the weight a bit, but I'm not sure theres much more benifit. Still playing...

Does it have enough ability to hold on only one side? I looks like it would pull through

It should. Theres a crimp and 2 washers in the middle bottom to keep it from moving to either side

How about 2 vertical members with rungs connecting them? Kind of like......a ladder. :D
 
What if the thought on amsteel here, abrasion, would it say rigid enough?

I do not know how smooth the holes are but I assume you could minimize abrasion. AS far as rigidity zip ties inside the braid in addition to some tubing would take care of that. I mostly said that as a joke as it seems AmSteel is a solution to every problem here
