A new style of platform (I think?)

Where the skys are so blue!
Not to hijack dude's thread...the design touch is great and kudos for the creativity.

But my take on a platform is that unless you have room to stand up on it, why not just use a ROS? The wide/shallow platform doesn't make any logical sense to me whatsoever! Vestigal tail? Give me a break, the pivot shot is a clear fix for one of the big downfalls of saddle hunting. But that's just me, clearly it does to others!
Just saying a wider platform and one that covers more circumference of the tree is beneficial. A long, skinny platform is not. I think the ambush does a good job of giving you that space by the tree. I think this platform does too. Several platforms are nice and wide, which I like for the same reason that I "manspread." The predator and klemz platforms are not ideal, because they are deeper than they are wide. Just not an efficient use of space. Not saying to make those designs shallower, just wider.

As far as the old weak side debate, I've killed 2 deer this year from a ROS on my weak side. Never got that one.

Don’t show @DaveT1963 ...... he will have to have one for his “everything ever made for saddles” collection

Many of the trees I hunt are too small for this, but it looks like a home run for most setups.

I think it would be most useful on a 6-12” tree, without ever having laid eyes on it.

@Bradymakesstuff if you make me one I’ll give ya some good feedback! I’ll even cover materials!

that's your opinion. I disagree, the predator facilitates shooting 360 by rotating on the platform. some of us hunt 8-12 foot high a lot of times. you are not walking around a tree with a mature buck close.

I can tell you right now it won’t work well on a softball sized trunk. Between the length of unused webbing against the buckle, and the diameter of each section... it would swamp some of my small trees. I think it would probably start fitting well around a 12” diameter. Maybe 10.
On a large enough trunk, though, that thing definitely looks sweet.

Half the trees I sat this year were small enough in diameter to only engage the inner tooth on each side of the predator platform... it is DANG hard to engage any platform or ROS at that small of a diameter.

That solitude rig is nice. I’ve used the bibs fair amount this season. Sold my sanctuary bibs. Enjoyed the kit link on the bibs of the solitude a lot, to the point that when I wore my Woodbury with them I got pissed off I couldn’t use the hand muff on the bibs. Came home and ordered the solitude jacket and have sold my Woodbury!
