Aero Hunter Merlin ordered

I have had 4 different Aerohunter saddles, The Merlin, and the first year of the kestrel is my favorite. I sat most of the rut in the Merlin including three all day sits and was very comfortable. I agree without aggressive social media and youtube advertising they will continue to lose market share.

They need to invest into aggressive marketing videos and sponsor any you tuber with 35K views or more then they will be back on top

I liked the old aerohunter saddles but honestly haven’t tried the new designs. I’ve only heard from a couple trusted sources that they aren’t as comfy but I cannot speak from personal experience
The Flex is extremely comfortable and so was the Kestrel.

How would you compare the Kestrel vs. the Merlin?

Love the orig kestrel flex. The Merlin loops are all doubled over and I like that as an upgrade. I swapped mine to an adjustable rope bridge. I'm looking to try my Merlin with a suspender system. Backwoods mobile gear just released one.
The mesh does not hold its shape as well as the cordura saddles. Love the belt, love the loops, very comfortable for me.

Y’all have had the chance to hunt a whole season in your saddles. What did you think?
I have one and few others. The Merlin is comfy. Takes a bit getting used to find great bridge positioning. I actually run my leg loops on my bridge loops and leave the side loops for my linesman since the top linesman loops are pretty small and hard to clip in. Get rid of the webbing bridge and add a bridge with side prusiks so you can lock in your bridge position on the loops. The folding panel is like the cruiser panel and eventually just wants to stay open. The belt could have been tied into the saddle structure but it’s on top of the 1in structure webbing which should have been a 2 in webbing. Other wise it’s super comfy and rock solid. You feel like these guys value your life with how well made they are. The reality of it is your hunting not sitting in a lazy boy watching the Super Bowl. I’d trust these guys with my life, my kids, and my wife’s.....

Well worded review. Although with the comments you made, if they made the changes you suggested, they would basically be making the original flex but with an upgraded linesman loop design and a rope bridge that girth’s on to hold your position!

I mean there wasn’t anything wrong with the og flex.... we all just want the next “game changer”..... but papa would say just shut up and hunt

On mine, I removed the webbing bridge, took one of the prusik cords (switched them for mechanicals) and turned it into my bridge using 2 carabiners. While the webbing bridge worked very well (probably better than the new bridge), I hated stepping into and out of the saddle. Having the bridge removeable, I can now put the saddle on like a carpenters belt. I found I had to put the tether a few inches lower on the tree to get the same level of comfort and no hip pinch.
