Aider step help please

They are steps off a climbing stick, you can buy just the step off doublestep.com. I had the same issue with my aider before squeezing my foot and sometimes the foot hole being too small. This way its solid

Wow, I've never seen that idea before! Having a solid step is key to not having the aider squeeze onto your foot too tight. Thanks for sharing.

Similar to the weed eater string but coated cable 5/16 or even 1/4 works awesome on aider steps. I just rapped it with tape into my step. Hold it open perfectly.

I envy you guys with the fortitude to step down into aiders in the dark.
It’s definitely something you want to practice. That’s why I only use 1 step aiders. When coming down I hook the aider with my foot and go sideways until it’s tight around my boot. Then I know I’m in it when I lower myself down

I came up with this setup. The butt pucker factor is much lower haha

I really like the look of this, why do you run 2 of them?

Mostly because I'm new to this and still testing things out but I'm running full length hawks and having the two makes getting both feet up on the stick easier. I can hang the sticks as high as I can reach. First hook on bottom step. Step up and hook 2nd hook on 2nd step. Step up and both feet are on the sticks. Hooks automatically release and return to my thighs. I feel like it's too big of a step if I only us one.

Im not that guy but it looks like they would hook to the top step of the sticks, then as you climb those and get to the top step the bungee will just bring it up with you as it is tied to your belt or whatever.
Im not the guy in the video but you get the idea. My setup is slightly different but accomplishes the same benefits.
