Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone uses an alternative to the tethrd strap for the predator. I’ve been messing around with 1” tubular webbing and use it like the rope method for climbing sticks...thoughts? A picture is included. The first picture is 11/16” tubular webbing and the second is 1”.

I've got two Predator straps that have never been on a tree. I use a daisy chained piece of 1/4 inch amsteel. It works great for me.

Yes, its a series of brummel locks on one end and a single brummel loop on the other. The single loop end stays on the post, the other end wraps around the tree and the tightest fit loop goes over the post.

What is this part that is circled in pic? I noticed the head of the bolt is marking up my post. I assume this is a harder metal than aluminum? How is it attached?

I can't speak for @Halfright but I taped a couple of layers of tongue depressor on my predators right there. It prevents any metal on metal clank and squeak from the surfaces rubbing. I didn;t change it all season, over 75 sits, last year. I just changed it out the other day. Hopefully good for another year.:)

It’s actually a nickel that I stuck to the post with steel stick by JB Weld. I was getting a lot of creaking from the bolt and the nickel made it 0.

I use the anti-slip padding you put on furnitures (or maybe the bathtub ones would even work) on the predator post, and they also dampen the metal to metal contact.

What's that you have for the standoff? I have 3 Preds, and my buddy has 3...none of our standoffs look like yours.
