I’m thinking I should definitely do this for leaning comfort. It doesn’t get in the way of anything as far as I can tell
I milled it out 1/4” deep and 3/4” wide to fit snug over the post.

I would add a stuff sack (soft ramp, foam ramp) instead. that bar wouldn’t give me the support I need underfoot.

Why not just tilt your platform?

looks like op likes a heavy lean but still likes a flat surface to shoot from.

I like a generally level platform, but even an ever so slight tilt does a lot for comfort.

That’d be a big tilt to get the angle he has. Don’t think it’s possible with the Ambush leveling.

I'm all ears, but I have no idea what you mean. Can you elaborate?

Checkout soft platforms. @Weldabeast and a few others made them.

Same basic concept, but a lot more material possibilities and sizing options as you’re adding the ramp atop a rigid platform.

In your design I think the bar would work better if it was lower, at least for me.

I just put a squirrel step on either side using a cam buckle, it does 2 things, I can lean back and kick my feet out and also makes the platform more steady on side pressure

You put the strap around the platform post? I have some Ameristeps on an OCB

I made a set of stirrups to try last year and didn't like it at all. It was ok to sit in, but it was awkward to move around in quietly.
This is nothing more that a place to rest your toes, not really made to put full body weight into. For what it is it's actually very comfortable. I like the flat platform so I can stand freely without leaning into the tether.
I put the bar just high enough that I can get my boots under it so I didn't loose any usable real estate on the platform. Anything behind the post is a NO-GO area on the Ambush anyway. It can fold up real easy if you step back there wrong.

I chamfered the teeth on the Ambush too. I guess the newer ones came that way and it does make a difference biting the tree consistently.
