Its like a magic trick. I had guest over the other night and asked how could I get both sides the same. Slide the sling through the loop and it all looks good till the very end and it pops out untied! LOL It was quite the hit at the party! lol

It's MINDBLOWING! There's no way it can untie itself, right???? But it does.

All hilarious, I have bread stuck in my nose now.

What about this? There may be a more recent thread here too but his is the one I stumbled onto

Exactly!

Don't feel bad. I did the same thing.

Do the lock stitch. It takes 5 minutes and is recommended by Samson Rope as a way to make a fixed loop.

I noticed zing it is pretty expensive and i honestly only need a small amount to lock stitch with. Any recommendations or ideas?

For what its worth - If I remember correctly the old Treesuit used a hog ring to ensure the rope splice didn't move.

So it does not necessarily need to be a certain rating, it is simply just holding it in place?
Yes. The squeeze of the hollow braid rope is doing all the work...same as a Chinese finger trap. All the lock stitch does is keep the bury from pulling out when it's unweighted.

Sent from my Galaxy S8.

Thanks Gents, I appreciate it. Looking forward to my new amsteel bridge.
( guna do all that work only to buy a Mantis this summer lol)
