Why shouldn't you tie knots in amsteel? Does it weaken it more than with normal rope?

Yeah you lose about 50 - 55% of strength. But am I missing something with the girth hitches on both sides? What's the difference between the girth hitches and fixed loops? Is it so they stay in place? So what I gather is my girth hitch of 5/16 amsteel has a breaking point around 6000 lbs?
Yeah, I girth them to fine tune the angle they pull the loops which effects comfort. A lower girth cups the bottom of the saddle on the butt more. Even an inch adjustment changes how the saddle feels.Yeah you lose about 50 - 55% of strength. But am I missing something with the girth hitches on both sides? I can't say how it effects comfort on a Mantis because I don't own one but it does make a difference on my Kestrel.Ah I see. May have to try this with some 5/16 amsteel.
Can I get royalties for this? Lol.You’ll be amazed!

Not sure about using a link, I'm sure it would work. But check out G2's video on splicing amsteel, he's really thorough and it's easy. I just used the knitting needle from Walmart, ten minutes later it was done. For us that don't want to trust our lives to our abilities in DYI could you use a quick link on each side of saddle with an amsteel dogbone or continuous loop? Or have i lost my direction?
